Precious memories of ATVing trips

Every time we head out ATVing, irregardless of where we’re taking the ATV, none of us ever forget to bring along our cameras. I mean, we can forget to bring extra parts for when the ATV breaks down and we can forget to bring our ATVing goggles, but we never forget to bring the camera. Maybe it’s because we don’t get a lot of opportunities to go traveling in the wild outdoors too much these days due to our clashing schedules and busy work weeks. So, the moment we can finalize our plans to go ATV riding together, we do it with enthusiasm reserved for football matches and hanging out at a pool table in a local bar.

On last count, I have more than five thousand pictures taken during the various ATV trips that I’ve been on with close friends over more or less 3 years. I started burning them into CDs earlier and sat there with a pile of randomly named CDs wondering what I would do with these pictures. that’s when my partner-in-crime sister came into my room-cum-office and dug into the CDs. she started compiling them and then suddenly came up with the idea of scrapbooking them. Yeah, she loves ATVs and dirt biking but she’s still a girl. So, out came all those scraps of paper and album makers and such…and the printing, cutting and gluing began. Ahem….I have to admit that it was kind of fun.

If you have nothing to better to do, this is precisely what you can do with all the pictures taken during your ATV trips. Apart from printing, cutting and pasting them into a scrapbook, you can also do it the conventional way, which is to get them professionally printed and then fitting them all into a nice little album that is reserved exclusively for ATVing pictures. This is so that you don’t have to dig around among other albums containing baby pictures to find ATVing pictures. I used to do this but stopped for some reason. Maybe now’s the perfect time to do it again.

Since Internet is such a convenient option, there’s always the option of having your own website, blog or online photo album that you can share with your friends and family members. Some free online photo album sites lets you print the pictures on stuff like t-shirts, mugs, books, etc. which is kind of cool if you don’t mind forking out the money for it. A friend of mine who did it said that www.webshots.com could do this for you. In fact, she sent me a mug with a picture of me sliding through a mud puddle for my birthday. Way cool or what?!

Picture-taking is a great way to help you remember what you did during the trip. I love candid shots so I have tons of that…some of them explicit, so, I am not allowed to show them off here for fear of losing my job and friends! But when you flip through an album and see all those ATVing pictures you have taken, it just takes you down memory lane. Some day, when you’re seventy or eighty, you’re going to look back at those pictures of you ATVing, you’re going to thank yourself for keeping all those pictures. And you can show off to your grandchildren too!

So, if you’re going to go out ATVing this end of the year, don’t forget to bring your camera along with you!
