Presenting The Mighty (Heavy) LRG Beast Baby

Written by Raceway ATV - the #1 kids Kazuma ATV dealer
Presenting The Mighty (Heavy) LRG Beast Baby Updated: Tuesday, 20 March 2007
In some instances, being light on your feet is good – being light means speed and agility. But what happens if there's an ATV that weighs 1,200 pounds, can hop like a bunny and can generate curiosity like Angelina Jolie can? We're talking about the King of All Beasts…the KOAB. LRG is well-known for producing top-of-the-line clothes and never for one moment would we have thought that LRG was capable of producing an ATV. A buggy...mmmmmm. A bicycle, sure. But an ATV?

LRG is basically a clothing and apparel company that produces hip-hop, street-style clothing that most teens and young adults wear these days. Mostly, LRG clothing can be seen by skateboard fanatics all over the country – if they carry are ON a skateboard or carting a skateboard around, chances are they are either wearing LRG clothing or they own some of the brand in their closet. So, when we heard that LRG has come up with a King of all Beast quad – we were stunned silent for quite a while. What is this clothing company thinking, anyway? We didn't, seriously, know whether to laugh or to start digging. But we decided to start digging around. And sure enough, LRG have decided to build KOAB.

Because of the unlikeliness of the eventual production of this mighty KOAB, it generated a lot of publicity and a lot of people started asking questions and digging around for soot. Robert Wright, one of the owners of LRG Clothing Company, said that the main purpose of building KOAB was to show the rest of the world that…yes, LRG makes clothes…but that's not all they know how and what to make. It all started as a project as a result of a brainstorming session back in September 2005 and although people thought that this was going to be a project most will dump at one time or another in the very near future – the plan went on ahead.

The KOAB costs LRG Clothing Company more than $150,000 to make and when you see KOAB, you'll know that every single cent spent on making this monster 1,200 pounds beast baby is worth it! The LRG based the KOAB's design loosely on the Bombardier 800 with some major difference. The KOAB has 19-inch rims under the steel frame and 7 layers of paint over it. Although by the looks of it, you might think that it looks a lot like the Bombardier 800 but that's where the similarity ends. Everything else on the KOAB is customized – almost 90% of the KOAB is completely unique.

With such weight, one might wonder how does the KOAB even MOVE , must less race? Well, for certain it won't be the fastest ATV on the planet and no one in his or her right mind would even dream of racing it during a competition, but the fact is that the KOAB ATV can bend really low to the ground and it can jump too (yup…but close your jaw) because of a technologically driven air-lift system. And to make the KOAB ATV even better, they've fitted a Range Rover suspension on it.

So…the question remains, what happens when all the fanfare, promotion and light bulbs die off? What are they going to do with this masterpiece ATV? Put it aside and let it collect cobwebs…it is not. According to Robert Wright, they're going to use KOAB for promotional purposes and this monster ATV is going to appear in many of their promotional activities in the near future with plans for it to appear in a hip-hop magazines like Dime Magazine. There's more but the list would be endless – but basically, LRG is going to make full use of KOAB to generate curiosity and publicity alike. The purpose is to reach as many people as possible with this monster baby because they are sure that when they read about KOAB, they're going to be impossibly curious and they may not be able to contain their excitement and admiration for the fine workmanship of this machine. Undeniably, KOAB is truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

So, what's going to happen to KOAB ATV when they're done with it? Robert Wright said that they're going to let KOAB retire after the press run and let it rest while they hunt around for a buyer. The plan is to do one project a year so, although LRG hopes to make a profit from it, it's not the most important issue. The most important thing is that they don't make a loss and get back the money so that they can work on their next project. What happens if no one is willing to take KOAB off of LRG's hands? Wright is ready to use this machine himself and enjoy the looks at that KOAB is capable of generating.
