Hahns Peak Trail System

Written by Raceway ATV - the #1 kids Kazuma ATV dealer
Hahns Peak Trail System Updated: Thursday, 06 September 2007

Hahn’s Peak Trail System

It’s a well-known fact….Colorado is simply paradise for ATVers or whoever is into Off-Roading. There is just so much space to ride in Colorado! Well, one of our favorites is the Hahn’s Peak Trail system which is in…yes, Colorado. Talk about scenic views…nothing beats the spectacular scene at Hahn’s Peak Trail System where there are looming mountains, jungles, hills, lakes, open fields and streams at this ATV trail system that boasts of more than 300 square miles. Nature is, indeed, kind.

The Hahn’s Peak Trail System is in the Routt National Forest of Colorado taking you right about 10,000 feet above sea level! Trust us, the view from the top is worth everything that you have to go through on your ATV to get there. There’s also the Farwell Mountain which is just as stunningly beautiful and magnanimously high. You’ll find yourself snapping away on the way to the top of Farwell Mountain and on top of it too. you won’t be able to resist standing there at the edge looking down at the striking beauty of Steamboat Lake. In the background, looming snowcapped mountains act as backdrops.

The weather and temperature at Hahn’s Peak Trail System depends on how high up you are; if you make it all the way to the top, there’s sure to be snow all year round. Imagine standing in the midst of white looking down at green meadows. The stark contrast is the kind of memory you will have of this ATV trail system that you won’t easily forget. If you want, you can just ride the ATV trail system through Colorado and then turn back to where you started without riding the ATV into Wyoming. But many ATV enthusiasts who rode this ATV trail system prefer to extend their trip by riding into Wyoming, covering both states in one trip.

Remember to bring a lot of supplies with you if you decide to take on the Hahn’s Peak ATV trail system because there aren’t too many stops for you to make a long the way to refill your tank or get spares. But there’s a town at Hahn’s peak where you can easily find food, lodging and gas. And there’s also another one at Steamboat Springs.

Before you start packing, you need to register your ATV with the Colorado Department of Parks and Outdoor Recreation if you’re from Colorado. If you are from another state, just make sure that your ATV is registered locally.

The Hahn’s Peak Trail System is located at the northern part of the state of Colorado. Steamboat Springs is about 25 miles north to the ATV trail and 200 miles to the northwest, there’s Denver.
