Bryce Canyon, Garfield County, Utah

Written by Raceway ATV - the #1 kids Kazuma ATV dealer
Bryce Canyon, Garfield County, Utah Tuesday, 08 May 2007

If there’s one thing we can say about planning a family ATV holiday, it’s ‘headache’. Why? Well, try it and see for yourself. There’s the issue of finding a place that’s good for EVERYONE and that is already a tough cookie to break. Most trails are either hard easy or in between so something’s got to give unless everyone possesses the same skill level where ATV riding is concerned. But here’s good news. If you want to plan a family ATV trip, take them to Bryce Canyon in Utah (Utah is rich with ATV trails). There are many different types of ATV trails here suitable for different riders, so, you’ll be spoilt for choice on which ATV trail to take.

Now before you start booking hotels and all that, make sure you have enough time to spend there, so, block off at least a week or so for this ATV trip. Believe you me, it takes a lot of time to totally enjoy Garfield county alone…there are thousands upon thousands of miles of back roads and trails. You’re going to have a ball there, no doubt about it. on top of that the scenery is awesome, so, bring along your camera and enough memory space for loads of pictures! Frankly speaking, Garfield County is blessed with amazing panorama.

Within the same county alone, there are already 3 National Parks to take the kids to which includes the Bryce Canyon, Glen Canyon Recreation Area and the Capitol Reef. On top of that, you can also take the whole family to Kodachrome Basin, Escalante Petrified Forest and the Anasazi Indian Village for a little trip. If you think that is all, think again. Spend a couple of days exploring nature’s gift to Utah at the Dixie National Forest, Scenic Byway 12.

There’s absolutely no concern whatsoever when it comes to lodging, there are many motels with reasonable pricing nearby. However, if you want something closer to where all the action is, try parking yourself at Panguitch. For families who prefers to campout during the trip, there are many campgrounds to choose from…they’re all cheap and offers basic camping necessities like swimming pools and tents. Panguitch also has a wide selection of restaurants, ATV rentals and ATV guide services.

Now, if you don’t already know, Utah is a haven for ATV lovers. You can literally ride your ATV anywhere you want as long as you follow the rules. If there’s one advice we have to give you, it would be to forget about attempting to ride all the ATV trails there in a week. It’s not possible although non-Utah residents are allowed to operate their ATVs here for fourteen days without needing to register. There are thousands of miles of ATV trails here. If you want to see more, come back again and again to enjoy the ATV trails here one by one.

If you have kids below the age of 8-years-old, you must know that they are not allowed to ride their ATVs on public roads or trails. Those between 8 till 15 may ride their ATVs on public roads provided they can prove that they have gone for training issued by Utah State Parks and Recreation. And one more thing – helmet is a MUST!

For more information, visit https://www.go-utah.com/Panguitch or https://www.utah-trails.com for more information. Have fun! Utah is, indeed, a playground for ATV enthusiasts!
