Beastly ride on Beasly Knob ATV trail

Written by Raceway ATV - the #1 kids Kazuma ATV dealer
Beastly ride on Beasly Knob ATV trail Thursday, 19 April 2007

Oh boy, that’s the first thing that comes to mind at the mere mention of Beasly Knob trail because this is an ATV trail NOT designed for the faint-hearted and ATV riders who are still in the ‘just learning’ stage. The Georgian ATV trail is not even for the ‘I think I am good enough’ ATV riders – it’s so rough that it will give professionals a tough time climbing up the hilly trail! Beasly Knob in Blairsville covers approximately 2800 acres of land, so, there’s loads of space to ride. Due to the difficulty level of this Georgia ATV trail, winter time is a big no-no. Beasly Knob ATV trail usually closes from January 1 till March 31.

Beasly Knob ATV trail is located quite near Blairsville, Georgia right smack in Chattahoochee National Forest. We strongly believe that kids should not even be there in the first place. Experts, if you want to challenge yourself, go right ahead and head on to Beasly Knob trail. But don’t say we didn’t warn you, if you’re strong enough (or your ATV not good enough), you might find yourself wrestling with the notion of quitting mid way.

Most of the ATV trails are old, no longer maintained and rutted out. Since this ATV trail in a National Forest, it’s best that you get a piece of map and keep it VERY CLOSE to you at all times. You can grab one at the parking lot…there’s a small booth offering the map.

Of course, the trail is not difficult all the way…only most of the way…but we found reprieve in some parts of this ATV trail whereby we could cruise along without nature challenging us. Dirt bikes might have an easier time with this Georgian ATV trail compared to an ATV because an ATV is heavier. And trust us, the hills are steep!

Another important note is to check the weather report before you head out because if you’re expecting rain, don’t go. The land and sand is so loose out there on this ATV trail that when it rains, all the loose sand will turn into…yeah, MUD! So, unless you like to get all muddy, steer clear until it’s sunny. Although riding this ATV trail requires a lot of your attention, be careful of other BIGGER vehicles like jeeps and four-wheel-drives- the trail is definitely wide enough for large vehicles – most parts, anyway.

If there’s one tip we can give you, it’s that to generate enough speed if you’re trying to climb a steep hill. It is indeed a tough ATV trail. If you don’t have enough speed, you run the risk of a rolling backward on your ATV and worse, crashing into the vehicle behind you!

To get to this Georgia ATV trail, take highway 76 from Blairsville riding North for about 3 miles. You’ll pass Waffle House along the way. As you drive on, you’ll see signs (quite prominent ones) pointing to the direction of the trail. From then on, you should not have problems finding the ATV trail head.

More information, check out this website or call USFS at (706) 745-6928.

All in all, don’t say we didn’t warn you, try not to break your neck while your ATV will suffer a little there.
