Lily Ponds ATV Trails

South Central Colorado has a diamond in the rough of a trail waiting for you and your ATV to come ride. The Lily Ponds ATV trails are multi-use trails managed by the San Isabel National Forest service.

The open season for ATV riding season is May through December and there are other types of traffic on these trails in the form of hikers, mountain bikers, motorcycle riders, and horseback riders. Additionally, in the early and later parts of the riding season, you are likely to encounter snow. When riding on snow, you will need to handle your ATV differently. Have an experienced ATVer show you the ropes so you are riding this type of terrain in the safest manner possible.

This ATV trail is fairly short, measuring in at just over 1-mile. It isn't very steep either and you will climb to just over 700-feet from the start to the finish of this ATV trail. There are very few obstacles or technical challenges, so beginning ATVers who are ready to leave the closed riding areas and hit the wilderness trails will love these trails as great places to get their feet wet and wheels dirty!

There is a lot of wildlife in this area. If you happen to be riding your ATV in the early morning or late afternoon hours, you are likely to see various woodland residents. Deer are very numerous in this area and you are more likely than not to encounter a small herd.

If you enjoy fishing, Lily Ponds trail has several spots along the way to catch fish or drown a few worms whichever way you look at it. If you brought your fishing gear and a fishing license on your ATV ride, pull over and catch a few! Interestingly enough, most of these ponds were created by beavers.

The view at the end of the trail is picture worth, make sure you brought your camera along for this ATV ride!
