In order to ride your ATV in Rhode Island, you must be registered with the State's Recreation Management Agency. Registration requires a small fee, but it is definitely worth it to ride your ATV in the area. You must wear a proper ATV safety helmet while you ride in Rhode Island, and you must have reflective on each side of your ATV that is 16 square inches.

A motor vehicle operator's license is required for ATV riders aged 16 to 18 in order to cross highways. The minimum age requirement for riding an ATV in Rhode Island is 16 with supervision, though children 12 and up can ride on certain public lands.
