Why You Should Wear Motorcycle Gloves

The main reason that you wear motorcycle and ATV gloves when riding is to protect your hands in case of an accident. The other reason is to provide good grip on the handle bars and prevent accidents like that from happening, especially in inclimate weather conditions. Also, gloves protect your hands when you're out on the trail from the slapping of tree branches, flying debris and bush limbs.

If you ride an ATV or Motorcycle, the palms of your gloves will be very important, since when you take a spill natural human reaction is to spread your palms and attempt to break your fall. This will lead to a major case of road rash on your hands if you aren't protecting your hands with a good pair of motorcycle or ATV gloves.

For either type of riding, flexibility is an important concern. You need to be able to grip your handle bars tightly for good steering control and you need to be able to have lever control.

Inclimate weather is another concern. You need to make sure your motocross or ATV gloves will keep your hands warm and dry in case you happen to riding in poor weather conditions. Make sure they have tight stitching and good rubber or silicon palms and fingertips. That will insure a good grip when you need it most.

Keeping your hands warm is a job most good riding gloves will do for you. Thor makes some great gloves in their line for this purpose that are well within anyone's price range.

Try on gloves before you buy. Put your hand in the handlebar gripping position, that is how it will be held most and make sure that your gloves are comfortable in that position.

Now that you know the basics for getting a good pair of gloves for riding your motorcycle or ATV, you can shop with confidence and best of all, when you purchase your gloves from Raceway ATV, shipping is free.
