Wyoming Off Road (ATV) Laws

If you are looking to ride your off-road vehicle or ATV in Wyoming, whether
you are visiting or you call it home, you should be sure that you are aware of
all of the laws before you start out. Some riders do not stop to think first that

First off, you should start by making sure you have your annual permit taken
care of. You can get one by calling (307) 777-7477 or by purchasing one
from any selling agent located across the state of Wyoming. These permits
only cost $15, and you are required to display one whether or not you are a
Wyoming resident. Also, when driving on roads, all operators must possess a
valid drivers license.

Some simple laws to remember for riding your ATV or off-road vehicle in
Wyoming are that no person is allowed to enter private property for hunting
or fishing without permission, and all ATVs and trail bikes have to be
equipped with spark-safe mufflers along with complying with sound
regulations.

You must be sure that when you are riding your ATV or trail bike that you
are not damaging or disrupting and of the land or wildlife. The state of
Wyoming takes pride in their natural habitats and misconduct such as this is
strictly prohibited.
