The ATV Trail of Fields Peak

The Fields Peak ATV Trail is a great place for you and your friends to go ATVing. It is for the most experienced of ATV riders, so keep in mind, it will be a fantastic challenge.

To get there take US Highway 26 for about 18 miles till you get to Forest Service Road (FSR) 21. Keep going south for about 8 miles till you get to FSR 2100115. Follow the sign to get to McClellan Trailhead and head eat about a 1/4 mile to FSR 2160041. From this road, you will come to the ATV trail.

The length of this fine ATV trail is 4 miles with some very difficult spots. The low elevation is 6600 ft. and the high is 7400. It is not highly used, but still be cautious from June to November, when the trail is open.

Pay attention to what trails are open to ATV's and which ones are not. From these trails, access is available to other trails that may not be open to ATV's so be careful. The busiest time for these ATV trail is during the fall when big game hunting is going on.

Being a good ATV sports rider, you know how important safety is. The running of your vehicle is very important. Do a complete systems check before heading out. This includes the brakes, tires, and oil. Check for any leaks and fix them.

Wearing the right equipment is vital to your safety. Wear a helmet, goggles, gloves, and boots along with an ATV suit.

Tell someone where you are going and when you will return, along with taking a cell phone in case of an emergency.

So enjoy yourself and your time on the ATV, just keep safety and common sense at the front lines at all times.
