Radical Hill Is A Popular ATVing Spot

What can we say about Radical Hill, except that it's quickly becoming one of the most popular spots for ATVing in Colorado. The ATV trail lives up to its name. There's nothing like feeling the mountain wind blowing through your hair as you and you ATV climb higher and higher up the side of Mt. Wise.

This ATV trail has more than enough rocky mountain trail to satisfy any thrill seeker. ATV riders with intermediate skills will appreciate the wild and challenging mountain pass.

And the ATV trail isn't the only challenge ATV riders face on Radical Hill. ATVers will have to watch out for the weather because it changes as quickly as the twists in the ATV trail itself. You and your ATV will be hauling tail in the sunshine one minute, and trying to take cover from hail the next. Lightning is also possible up here in God's country so remember some basic weather safety tips.

If you and your ATVing buddies find yourselves in danger of lightning, get off your ATVs. Pull way over to the side of the trail and get as low to the ground as you can. Never, and we mean never should an ATVer try to take shelter under the trees. Should lightning strike the tree, campers on Radical Hill would be serving ATVer bacon for dinner that night. (By the way this lightning stuff applies to mere mortals too.)

One more piece of news about Radical Hill ATV trail. ATVers have begun pushing the envelope and heading off into non ATV approved sections on the mountain. We're talking about that short rocky hill section that breaks off to the right. Rangers have been working to make it obvious to all ATVers that this section of the trails is closed to them, so pass the info along to you ATV buds.
