Should You Wear Boots When Riding an ATV?

Riding an ATV or motorcycle is a ton of fun, but you also need to protect your body in every way you can is essential. You already know that you need to wear a helmet, riding gloves, and goggles and you know exactly why you need those items when you ride. Have you thought about the footwear that you should be wearing when you ride?

Riding boots are the best protection for your feet, ankles, and lower legs. These type of boots are specifically designed to protect your feet, ankles, shins, and lower legs from flying debris such as rocks, branches, sticks and sometimes even other vehicles. Motocross boots are stiffly designed to protect you against foot movements of the foot and ankle that wouldn't occur naturally. The boot will attempt to stop your foot and ankle from turning in awkward directions and thereby save you from a break should you take a spill or an impact when riding your bike.

One great example for wearing proper riding boots is if you run into a stationary object such as a tree stump or a log. These can seriously hurt your leg or foot if not properly protected. You might get a bruise if you hit one of these objects when wearing a good pair of riding boots, however if you're not adequately protecting your legs and feet, you could fracture that area on impact. The cost of a trip to the emergency room plus the time out to heal will make a good pair of riding boots well worth the cost.

A good rule of thumb many ATV and motorbike riders use is to dress for an impact. If it doesn't happen, terrific! If it does, you'll be more than protected and ready for anything. Get the best protection for your legs and feet when you ride and when you purchase your riding boots from Raceway - shipping directly to your door is absolutely free of charge.
