Tips for Running Your RC Car or Truck a Little Easier

Once you get into running nitro RC cars and trucks, you'll find it is downright addictive fun. There are also a number of things you can do to make your time at your favorite racetrack or driving area a little easier on yourself.

If filling your fuel bottle is a messy affair, you're not doing it correctly. Never just dump fuel through the open neck of your fuel bottle. A fast and clean way to fill your fuel bottle is to tilt it, dip the filler neck into the fuel and squeeze and release until your fuel bottle is filled.

If you have a sleepy engine that won't start easily cold, use a heat gun to warm the engine and internal working parts to a temperature that's closer to their operating-temperature specs. Simply hold it in place until the outside of the engine feels very warm to the touch and then your RC car or truck should be easy to start.

Lube your filters! Keep your filters in top shape by regular cleaning and lubing. Otherwise they won't perform even close to peak performance. Most importantly, take care of your air filter. A quick fix for lubing your filters is to use a freezer type zip closing bag and put some filter oil in the bag and use it to saturate the filters without getting your fingers all sticky. This is a good way to have spare filters ready to roll when you need them.

And those are just a few tips to make your times out with your RC car or truck a little easier!
