Race Your RC Car Tokyo Drift Style

If you've been racing your RC cars for a while, you might be ready for something on the next level: drifting. Inspired by the movie "Fast and Furious - Tokyo Drift", drifting has become another echelon in RC racing.

If you want to drift, you need a fast 4-wheel drive car. The HPI RS series are among the best RC cars to try this stunt with. This is extreme action for your RC car and it will wear on your tires, be prepared to glue them on and replace them on a very regular basis if you plan on "doing the drift" a lot with your RC car.

It will take a little experimentation to find the best dial to drift for your RC car but it can be done with almost any 4-wheel drive, lightweight sedan style RC car. Start off driving straight and then slowly weave your car back and forth and learn where your RC car grips the road. Every car is individual and only by practicing with your own car can you learn this. Then run your car again and do the back and forth and increase your speed, when the tail of the car starts to come up and around, counter steer the direction the car is moving and you will begin to catch the car and force it into a drift. Practice, practice, and practice a little more- once you learn when to "grab" your car from its spin, you can drift your RC car without a lot of effort.

If you're looking for a new RC driving experience, get in the fun of drifting.
