More Tips for Running RC Cars and Trucks

If you love to run your RC cars and trucks, you will pick up a lot of time savers and valuable tips for running your vehicles along the way. Here are a few tips and tricks for keeping your RC vehicle running smoothly on and off the track.

A can of spray lubricant will keep your car lubed and clean. You already knew the lubed part, but clean? You bet. When you have completely cleaned your RC car, give it a shot of a product like WD-40 and it will protect your car's plastic parts and leave it with a brand new shine. Dirt and mud will not adhere to your car. Do not do this unless you have cleaned your car or you will seal a layer of dirt to your RC vehicle.

Take care of your clutch bearings. Your clutch bearings spin very quickly and are subjected to a lot of abuse. If you don't keep them lubricated they will cease working and your engine will stall when you hit the brakes. To get the most out of your clutch bearings, simply clean and oil them after each use.

If you need to remove your glow plug, clean the area around it first. You will find dirt and crud around your glow plug. If you don't clean your glowplug first, dirt and debris can fall into your fuel and it will find its way through your engine. Repeat performances of this will degrade your engine eventually. Keep your glow plug clean.

Empty your fuel line completely. You can either run your car dry or dump it out through the cap, but never leave fuel in your RC car. It will evaporate and the oily residue left will foul up your filters and make your carb need frequent cleaning.

And those are just a few more great tips to keep your RC car running with easy maintenance that you can do!
