Positivity food for your ATVing hobby?

A positive attitude goes a long way, they always say, and irregardless of whether an ATV is involved or not, ‘they’ are always right. When we take a look at our interest and hobby in ATV riding, the same principle will apply. At some point in our ATVing life, we will encounter problems, get fed-up with fixing our ATVs, or the neighbor’s ATV looks and performs so much better than ours that our interest start to wane. You’ll feel like you’re stuck in the mud and waiting for some kind-hearted stranger to come roll along with a winch (hopefully). We’re handing you the winch now. Here are a couple of ‘positive’ things that we can do to spruce up our ATVing hobby.

Modify, modify, modify. So what your neighbor’s just gotten the biggest baddest ATV model and showing it off in his yard now? Spruce yours up and show that guy you don’t need a stash of cash to get your monster roaring! Don’t know how to modify or fix the ATV yourself…well, folks, grab some mags, surf the Internet, talk to a couple of ATV pros or mechanics and you’ll start modifying like a pro. The bottom line is….positivity. Yes, stay positive and when you start noticing the difference, trust us, you’ll be regular at the ATV spare part shop.

Your relationship with your ATV is a lot like the one you have with your partner or your marriage, for that matter. It needs to be worked on. And one of the ways to stay ‘positive’ about your ATVing adventures is to make friends with fellow ATVers. Ditch the skepticism aside and start talking with other folks about their ATVs even though theirs make yours look like a lawn mower. Once you start making friends with other fellow ATV fans, you’ll see ATVing in a brand new different light. Actually, when you think about it, there are many people who enjoys taking out their ATVs for spins (and wheelies) waiting to be your friends. They’re at the park, at the trails, in the repair shop…etc. Once you open yourself up for the possibility of sharing your love for ATV with others, you’ll start enjoying more. Those new friends can help push ‘positivity’ to a new level of enjoyment. Share your experience with them and you’ll see that they will share theirs with you in return. An extremely enriching experience. Your group of friends will grow so big that you can start a club if you work hard at it!

Some of the people we know stick to the kids’ playground even though the local authorities prohibit these activities. Which puzzles us, really! We’ve written about and recommended a lot of ATV trails and tracks all around the country, some outside of the country, and frankly, there’s nothing like a good ATV ride somewhere challenging and exciting to inject the ‘positive’ element into your ATV riding hobby! Take it to the trails, guys! Sure, some of us are normal mortals (done intentionally, of course) and we DO fear being lost, injured or DEAD in the middle of nowhere but as long as you do your homework by finding out as much information as you can about the place and get a map of the place before you go, there shouldn’t be such problems. We survived, so should you.

Another way to inject positivity into your ATVing is to….drum roll….bring your family into it as well! Sure, the wife’s been harping, the kids’ been complaining, the in-laws’ been threatening and the parents’ been nagging about your obsession with ATVing but as soon as you bring them into your private world of ATVing, you’ll see some light.
