Ride the Wolfpen Gap ATV trail in Arkansas
If you have ATV riders of varying skill levels in your ATV group, the Wolfpen Gap trail will have a little something for everyone in your group as the trails range from very easy to very difficult. The entire ride is very scenic, with photo opportunities around every corner.
If the weather is looking nice for the weekend, stay and ride with your group. There is camping along with fishing and boating at the very nearby Shade Lake recreation area. You will also find loops throughout the Wolfpen trail that allow you to turn around at any point and head back. This is especially useful for people who are newer to the sport of ATVing and tire easily. This makes their ride just as fun as yours!
Two fun areas to ride around at the Wolfpen are Gap Creek and Board Camp Creek. There are trails around both and after you take your ATV through the dense pine forest in the clearing is a miniature oak tree that stands only 2 feet tall.
The ATV trails at Wolfpen are very popular and also two-way, be sure and be on the lookout for other riders as you ride your ATV in this area. Also be aware there is a Jeep and Truck trail system not far away so you may see a vehicle either coming or going, but the ATV trails are kept separate.
Have a blast riding Wolfpen Gap ATV Trails!

Triple Riding Fun in Arkansas
Located in the Ozark National Forest are three fun riding areas for ATVers. There are three main trails that wind through this forest area: Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail, Mill Creek ATV trail, and Moccasin Gap Trail. You will be required to wear your helmet and goggles at all times when riding these trails, your helmet must be DOT approved. The Rangers will also want to do an inspection of your ATV prior to riding. Your brakes must work perfectly and you must have a spark arrestor and noise muffler in place.
If you love water riding, you'll love Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail that provides for over 34 miles of ATVing fun. This has two main loops: Huckleberry Mountain Loop and Apple Loop. There is one section on Huckleberry Loop that passes over Shoal Creek over 6 separate times. If your idea of a great ATV ride includes lots of splashing, this is the trail system for you.
Mill Creek ATV Trail is the next amazing location to ATV in the Ozark National Forest. This area has the most terrain variety then the other trails. There are mountainous areas, forests, streams, and unsurpassed rocky paths. This trail is home to some of the most difficult ATV riding spots in the Forest.
The best was saved for last and the last ATV trail is called Moccasin Gap Trail. This is probably the most impressive of all three. It takes you on a ride beside Moccasin Creek that is home to several gorgeous waterfalls. ATVing through pine forests is another welcome difference. This is a very easy trail to ride and even beginning ATV riders won't have issues keeping up.

Tour the Ghost Town on the Taylor Pass Trail
Taylor Pass is an interesting ride in Colorado. Besides the fun ATV trails and scenic beauty that most Colorado ATV rides give you, there is also a ghost town located on the ATV trail.
This is an easy ATV trail to access. Take Pearl Pass Trail to the end and then take the paved road to Express Creek Road on the right. On the right you will see Ashcroft Ghost Town. The trailhead is located just past this area.
The ATV trail passes right by Ashcroft Ghost Town. In the mid-1800's this was a mining boom town which people eventually left as the silver in the mines dried up and then was fairly desolate until the 1940's when two partners attempted to turn the area into a ski resort. It wasn't meant to be as one partner was killed in WWII and the other leased the land to the U.S. Army where it became home to the 10th Mountain Division and that was eventually disbanded. If you have enough time in your day of ATVing, pull over and take a short tour of the ghost town. Many of the buildings are still in tact. It's a definite photo opportunity.
The trail itself starts out easy but then turns into a more difficult road. There are some steep climbs and turns, but nothing too difficult for most ATV riders. If you have mastered the ATV trails rated easy, you won't have any problems riding this fun and interesting area.

Superlift ATV will offer up a fantastic day of ATVing fun for the entire family. This has an extensive collection of trails waiting for riders to explore. It consists of ominously named obstacles such as Quicksand Hill, The Ravine, and Concrete Hill that will entice any ATV rider to ride and conquer. Superlift ATV Park has a little something for all ATV riding ages. Trail rating levels go from 1 through 5. Level 1 is designed for beginners and families for a nice relaxing ride. Here you can sit back and enjoy the scenery while cruising on your ATV. A level 5 is much more difficult. Difficult may not even be the right word for these trails. They require a co-driver and you should expect your ATV to have some damage while trekking in these locations, bent fenders are not uncommon. This area is only for the most experienced riders.
Your kids will love the riding area built just for them. The Super-Kids Ride Area. This ground is designed specifically for ATVing children 12 and under. The Best of Both Worlds at Rasor OHV
If you love riding you're ATV in the dirt and you love to hit the dunes and you just can't decide where you're going to ride - never fear, there is destination in California that offers up both. This ride can be made even better if you have a set of Swamp Fox ATV Tires. These tires will really dig into the dirt and give you excellent traction. This area has trails that are not too difficult, however it is located in a fairly remote location so you won't encounter a big deal of traffic.
Getting to the Rasor OHV riding area is not difficult. The riding area is between Interstate 15 and the Mojave National Preserve that is located roughly 25 miles southwest of Baker, California. The access roads are located on Basin Road and Rasor Road east of the I-15. Both of these roads are graded dirt roads.
This is a very isolated riding locale and you must pack along everything you will need for your ATV ride. This includes extra water, gasoline, first aid kit, personal toiletries and if you intend to spend the night in this area, primitive camping is allowed. There are no trash receptacles so be prepared to pack out all your refuse.
Rasor OHV is a very fun ATV area to ride. It has rocky slopes and the elevations in some areas can be steep but not too difficult to climb. On the downhill side of the trail, you will encounter large amounts of vegetation with rocky terrain surrounding the areas. There are also deep slopes on the downhill run that are a blast to go through when using your Swamp Fox ATV tires as they really grip the ground for a sturdy ride. The ride ends at a sandy dune area where you can enjoy rolling through the loose sand for a great riding experience.

Use Sandsnake Tires at Oceano Dunes With Your ATV
If you want to ride the Oceano Dunes on your ATV, you will want to use a set of sand tires especially suited for the riding the loose sand. The straight blade design of these tires makes it easy to climb the dunes and get to the top. You can get good traction. The lightweight casing design of these tires will give you better shock absorption and the natural rubber compound that these durable tires are constructed of will give you a long wearing ride and run cooler.
The dunes rise gently on the west side, but on the east side, they slope very deep. Your Sandsnake tires will really be able to dig in and keep a grip as you crawl up the dunes. With a constant wind, these dunes are ever changing, which is what makes this area a different ride every time you bring your ATV out. The history of these dunes is interesting. Indians who deemed it a magical place originally populated this area and in recent years the dunes have become a gathering point for some earth worship based spiritual groups.
With the dunes being right by the ocean, you will come across many species of plant and wildlife. Your Sandsnake ATV tires will take you across the dunes until you reach the Ocean and you can ride by the water and enjoy a great day of riding the dunes with your favorite group of riding buddies.

Bring Your ATV to the Alturas Recreation Area
The Alturas recreation area provides a memorable experience for any ATV enthusiast. With beautiful evergreen forests, high desert plains, and the rocky terrain created by ancient lava flows, your ATV ride will be varied and fun
California now requires that ATVs that are driven on federally managed lands be "greenstickered". Meaning the ATV is registered in either California or if you're only visiting it needs to be registered in your home state. ATVers all over California flock to take on and master these breathtaking trails. The trails in Alturas can be quite challenging so before you take it on, be sure to review these safety measures.
Whether you are an brand new to riding an ATV or you're a seasoned ATV rider with many years of riding under your belt, be sure that you are prepared to handle the terrain properly so that your ride will be both safe and exciting.
On these trails that have steep areas, be sure to never ride too close to another ATVer, as this could end up in disaster for both of you. It is common for ATVs to slip backwards on particularly challenging hills and trails. If following to closely, this could spell disaster for you, the other rider and your vehicles. Simply keeping your distance from another rider during a climb will eliminate that problem.
Additional benefits exist with this ATV experience to see herds of Mule Deer and Pronghorn Antelope. The historic Indian sites and roaming wildlife simply add to this great outdoor experience. If you like wildlife, beautiful countryside, and tons of hills with rugged terrain, you will want to ride the Alturas for your next ATV ride!

Alaskan Wilderness Riding At Its Best-Eklutna Lake ATV Trail
Alaska's own Ellutna Lake is a very busy Alaskan Lake that happens to have a very fun ATV trails around it. There are very easy trails and this is splendid place for beginners to learn to not only better handle their ATVs and learn greater maneuvering techniques on their ATVs. The lakeside trail is an old road and very easy to navigate for newer ATVers as it is very level and wide.
Be aware that these are multi-use ATV trails and you will run into people hiking, biking, backpacking, horseback riding, dog sledding, other ATVers, people who are Skiing and snowmobiling. You will also see numerous people canoeing/kayaking out on the lake no matter what time of year it is.
This is not a large ATV trail as the length of this ATV trail is just over 12 miles and there is a large amount of traffic on these ATV trails during the riding season. This is also a good opportunity for newer ATV riders to learn to drive their ATVs friendly with other traffic in the area and learn proper techniques for when one meets up with hikers and horseback riders. To avoid spooking horses, always pull your ATV over and kill the engine. When the horseback rider is about 100 yards down the trail, restart your ATV and maintain a good safe distance between yourself and the horses.
The scenic Chugach Mountains border this valley lake and this area is very picturesque no matter what time of year you bring your ATV to this area to ride. There are public use cabins available and you are allowed to set up a primitive campsite around this ATV trail in case you want to take it slow and just have a good long weekend of ATV riding.

Ride the Red Elephant
If you want an ATV trail that has challenges such as rolling hills and steep climbs to make, check out the Knoxville Red Elephant ATV trail. This is a huge riding area as it has over 17,000 acres of terrain.
This ATV trail is simple to get to. From the town of Lower Lake, start on Morgan Valley Road to the McLaughlin Mine where it becomes the Knoxville-Berryessa Road. Then southeast just past a plant and then go 13 miles from Lower Lake and you will see the entrance.
The current designated OHV trail is a little over 8 miles long and the trail circles two ponds. If you are riding your ATV in the early morning hours it is not uncommon to see deer and other forest residents drinking water from the ponds. Bring your camera, as you're sure to find some good photo opportunities on this ride.
There is a steep downhill section you will come across while ATVing on this trail. The downhill leads to a narrow ridge top where there is an overview of the grasslands and small streams. You will ford a small stream on your ATV and then the trail will turn very narrow and there will be multiple opportunities to switchback if you're ready to turn around your ATV and begin heading back. This is where you will come across the Red Elephant mine and it is not uncommon to see eagles riding the thermals in this area.
The ride back will take you through a small stream, and several narrow winding turns. This is an ATV trail that is rated from easy to intermediate and should be an enjoyable ride for any ATVer.

You can enjoy the narrow canyons, flat dry lakes, sand dunes and all the trails that connect these various types of terrain. You will see the remains of a good number of mines in this area. Many mines are now bat habitats and are dangerous to enter due to the possibility of collapse and pockets of toxic gases that collect in these old unused mines.

This ATV trail system is rated intermediate to expert riders and should not be attempted by anyone new to the sport or anyone who doesn't have the manipulation skills to control an ATV on these trails.

This trail is part of the Pike National Forest and you will need a sticker to ride your ATV on this trail system. You will need a permit to ride this area and while your ATV is being checked by the Forest Rangers for properly working brakes, headlights, noise muffler installation and spark arrestor installation, get the most current map for riding Power Line Trail.

Great Trails in the Ozark National Forest
Located within the Ozark National Forest is a real jewel of an ATV trail. Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail is one of the most scenic ATV trails you'll have the chance to ride your machine on. This trail is one of the most amazing locations for ATVing in the Ozark National Forest; there is no other venue in Arkansas where you can view gorgeous mountain bluffs or so many fresh mountain streams in one place. The trail is made up of two loops: the Apple Loop and the Huckleberry Mountain Loop.
The slightly shorter loop, Huckleberry Mountain loop is just over 9 miles long. This may be a shorter distance for ATV riders, but the ground is much more difficult to ride on. The rating of this trail is intermediate, so experienced riders only on this trial.
Apple Loop, the longer loop, is easier riding terrain. This trail is great for newer and younger riders. The trail is primarily made of forest trails and old logging roads. This is also site to a primitive campground if you plan on making it a full weekend of ATV riding.
The Shoal Creek area can be dangerous. Check the water level before you ride and get the latest information on if the water has risen due to heavy rains. Crossing this creek is normally safe when water levels are average, but don't attempt to cross when the waters are higher than normal, the current is stronger than it looks. Enjoy the trails at Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail and make a weekend out of it if you can, there's a lot to see!

It's a Challenging Ride at High Rock Canyon
If you're an experienced ATV rider and you are looking for a new place to challenge your well-honed maneuvering skills, take a trip out the High Rock Canyon. This ATV trail comes with an interesting history. Originally it was an Indian trail. The trail then became part of the passageway to get to Oregon. It was also a much-used pathway during the gold rush, as people headed to California seeking their fortunes. Today, this isn't an important traveling thoroughfare but it is one challenging and fun ATV ride. ATV buffs will find diverse terrain from a beautiful dessert oasis to very rough and isolated gravel roads that take you far away from the crowds of ATVers you may be used to riding with. High Rock Canyon is only 16 miles long and even though it is not a long ATV trail, the sheer ruggedness of this trail will make it an all-day event.
It is important to note, that there are no facilities in or near the canyon, except for one camp. Bring everything you will need to ride. And bring along extra water to make sure you stay hydrated. High Rock Canyon is known as a beautiful but jagged place, which is one reason it has so much appeal for ATV riders.
Beginning ATV riders need to steer clear of this trail and even the most experienced ATVers need to take extra care with safety precautions on these trails, or they could easily wind up with flat tires slashed from sharp rocks.
This trail is for the knowledgeable ATVer who craves adventure and loves the excitement of truly challenging landscape, he or she should put High Rock Canyon on their must-ride list for ATVing destinations.

Using Fox A/T Tires When Riding Rainbow Hill
When you ride Rainbow Hill in Colorado on your ATV, you will want a tire that will really grip the terrain as this ATV riding area has deteriorated and become more and more rocky as time has gone by. Fox A/T Tires will give you the grip you need to handle the rough and rugged ground that makes up most of this riding area.
This is not a very long ATV trail as it measures in at just over 13 miles, however the scenery in this area is outstanding if you're using Fox A/T tires on your ATV, you're assured of a great ride as your ATV will have maximum gripping power from the radial casing that provide a great grip from the tire and the lightweight, yet puncture resistance of this tire makes it a great choice for rugged areas such as Rainbow Hill.
You will find that some portions of this ATV trail are very rough to ride but absolutely worth it for the fun factor. Many ATV riders advise starting at the Hayden Creek Campground and ride straight up the Rainbow ATV trail.
If you are looking to make this ride into a long weekend with your family or friends. There are two nearby places to set up camp; Coaldale and Hayden Creek Campgrounds are both popular places to stay. There is a nominal fee for camping and campfires are allowed as long as they are contained. Enjoy the ride at Rainbow Hill.

Sidewinder Tires Rule at Dumont Dunes
If you love riding on sandy dunes, you will love the Dumont Dunes area to ride your ATV on. You will need tires that have a good grip and the Sidewinder ATV tires are a great addition to your ATV to give you the grip you need.
These tires are made to plow through the sand and rule the dunes. They have extra raised tread for extra grip on loose sandy conditions. Dumont Dunes is remote, so you won't have the same amount of traffic as you might at other sand dune ATV riding areas. When you ride at Dumont Dunes you will find gorgeous white sand dunes, deep blue skies overhead and the With white sand, deep blue skies, the slowly winding Amargosa River nearby. All of this set against a backdrop of the steep, once volcanic hills of this area.
You should be aware that since Dumont Dunes is in a remote location, there are no facilities beyond pit toilets and no place nearby to obtain food, water or gasoline. Be sure to bring everything you need for your day of ATV fun. Another thing you can do at Dumont Dunes, which is especially fun for the kids who aren't old enough to ride an ATV on their own, is to zip down the sand dunes on their snow boards. This will allow even the youngest members of your crew to enjoy the day at Dumont Dunes.

Great ATV Trails at the Cow Mountain Recreation Management Area
Named for the wild Longhorns that once roamed this area, Cow Mountain is now a great destination for ATV enthusiasts. Cow Mountain is split into two areas, the North and South. The North Side of Cow Mountain is for non-motorized activities only such as hiking, biking, and wildlife interpretation. The South Side of Cow Mountain is designed for the use of ATVs and other motorized vehicles.
Cow Mountain is over 31 miles of streams and 13 water reservoirs ready for you to splash down and tackle. Make sure your have good mud tires on your ATV such as the Blackwidow ATV Tires. They will take you through loose gravel, mud, and water. You are sure to see many of the local Cow Mountain residents such as the native black tail deer, bears, and maybe even some wild turkeys.
There is a diverse amount of terrain to ride on your ATV at Cow Mountain. There is a creek and mountain ridge that separates the riding areas. There are numerous places in the South End to ford the creek the trail is parallel to the mountain ridge. The terrain is rugged and steep in some areas of this trail system and the multiple trails do not interconnect. Make sure to get a map from the Bureau of Land Management and plan your ride. The trails are rated intermediate to difficult and most will have an obstacle (such as fallen trees) to climb over on your ATV.
If you enjoy tackling rugged terrain on your ATV, and riding along at high elevations so that you can really see the beautiful countryside, you won't want to miss out on the ATV opportunity.

Take Your ATV To Pole Creek-Cataract Lake
This is another great Colorado riding destination that is perfect for ATV riders who have mastered the easier trail systems and want a little more of a challenge in their ATV ride. The riding season for this intermediate riding challenge is from June to September. An interesting feature of this ATV trail is that it will take riders right to the Continental Divide.
It is not unusual to run across domestic sheep as you ride this ATV trail. If you come to a herd of sheep (of they come to you) turn off your ATV motor until they pass you, then resume your ride. Pole Creek-Cataract Lake ATV trail takes you up above the timberline, offering some really wonderful views.
A map is a must for this ATV ride as several areas of the trail are not well marked and you could wind up doing some unintentionally trailblazing and being off trail can result in a hefty fine from the Bureau of Land Management, marked trails or not. Opt for a map and plan your ride so you stay on the designated riding areas. During the riding season it is not unusual for sudden, severe thunderstorms to form. If you see a storm looming, take shelter and wait a bit as the storms pass as quickly as they form.
The Bureau of Land Management requires that you obtain an ATV permit if you want to ride this ATV trail. You are also required to have a muffler and spark arrestor in place and your ATV needs to be in good working order. The views are incredible and the ride is easy and fun at Pole Creek-Cataract Lake Road.

An ATV Trail for Everyone at Texas Creek!
ATV was never better defined than at Texas Creek, as there are truly all types of terrain to ride at this locale. The Texas Creek riding area is situated in central Colorado alongside the Arkansas River. This riding area circles scenic Table Mountain.
As you ride the circle around Table Mountain you will find the trail changes. On the western side of Table Mountain you will find rock formations to roll over and climb. This is the most technically challenging part of the ATV trail system. The terrain changes from hard, craggy rock to loose sandy soil as you move eastward where the trail is very easy to ride and there is a clearing as well on the eastern side where you can pull over and enjoy the views. The riding season for these trails is June through October and be aware that sudden thunderstorms are not only a possibility but are very likely. If you see a storm forming, take shelter as they usually pass by very quickly. Also dress in layers if riding during the early or late part of the riding season as the higher elevations can be chilly, even in June.
There are primitive camping areas at various places around both ATV trails and if you want to make a long weekend out of ATVing with your favorite group of riding buddies, this is a great way to cap off a fun day of ATV riding at Texas Creek.

Great Colorado Riding at Ten Mile Park
Ten Mile Park is located in the northwestern corner of Colorado and is a trail system that is rated as easy to intermediate. The riding season for this trail system is relatively short from June thru November, but is a fun and scenic ATV ride. This ATV trail runs through the White River National Forest and measures in at just over eight miles in length. The elevation of this trail is at 10,500 feet and an unusual feature of this ATV trail are the winds you will encounter; there is almost always a strong wind blowing in this area.
Ten Mile Park trail is well marked and gets a good amount of traffic during the riding season as it is such an easily accessible trail. You will be sharing this trail with other ATVers, mountain bikers and motorcyclists, be aware of the other traffic and the fact most of this trail is one way only.
This is a very easy ATV trail to access. It is located just outside of Sam's Spring off FDR 619. Once you are on FDR 619, the way to the riding area is clearly marked. At the trailhead, this ATV trail is very easy. However the longer you ride this trail, the more difficult it will get. There are certain areas that will require a good technical knowledge of your ATV, but nothing too steep that someone with intermediate level riding skills can't handle.

If you live in Arkansas, make this a destination for your next ride. This ATV trail has various loops that carry ratings from easy to difficult. The easy trails are flat and winding, the more difficult trails features steep cliffs and riding beside deep ravines.
It's a good sized trail measuring in at 26 miles long and it does have several different loops that allow for half or full days of ATV riding. If a full day is planned, take relief knowing there is plenty of shade for those hot days. The trail runs through mixed forest ground.
The scenic beauty of this area makes it a stand out among riding spots. There are several spots that everyone would enjoy. There are crystal clear streams flowing at the bottom of the deep ravines. ATV riders can also view the Ouachita Mountains and rocky glades leading up to them. Perhaps the most interesting and unique spot to stop is by an abandoned silver mine. Dalton Highway - Something for Every ATVer
In Alaska, Dalton Highway is a fun ride for ATVers of every skill level. This road is part of the Brooks Range and is considered a true ATVing adventure for North American ATV riders with the many kinds of terrain that are encountered.
The local tundra citizens such as arctic foxes, muskoxen (found particularly north of Slope Mountain), caribou, peregrine falcons, golden eagles, and rough-legged hawks are found in abundance in these areas. If you encounter one of the larger residents of the area, don't get too close they may interpret this as an aggressive action on your part and react. Generally they will just watch you carefully to make sure you just keep passing through.
Most of this trail is rated as easy, but at the 240 mile marker the elevation begins a 4700 steep, rocky climb and this is the part of the ATV rider more experienced ATVers will truly enjoy. Not only is this area full of scenic beauty and wildlife, it is also one extremely fun ride. Pack along extra gasoline as there are no facilities to get gas until the end on this ATV trail make sure that you have ample gas and everyone that you are riding ATVs with knows to bring along a good supply with them. People new to riding ATVs should be sure to have someone along for the ride that is much more knowledgeable in their riding skills. Additionally, Alaskan weather conditions are famous for their spur of the moment changes and dramatic declines into something less than pleasurable. So make sure to pack along warmer clothing and basic necessities for your ride along the way. There is primitive camping allowed on this road and the standards of Treadlightly apply when camping here. If you bring it in, bring it out and keep Dalton Highway riding area looking great for the next ATVer.

Take Your ATV to Bradshaw ATV Trails
Located right between the Chuckwalla Mountains and the Chocolate Mountain Aerial Gunnery Range is a great ATV riding prospect. The Bradshaw Trails are part of a complex trail system that covers a huge 65-mile wide area and with warmer weather upon us, this is a great place to make it a full weekend of ATVing with your family or friends. The history of these trails is interesting. Originally they were used as an overland stagecoach route. Then as the towns grew in this area these trails became used as major thoroughfares of transportation in this area. The largest part of the Bradshaw Trail covers public lands that give incredible views of the neighboring mountains and the Palo Verde Valley below. The rugged terrains make this a trip one that requires a few precautions for all ATV operators. As these are public lands, you will be required to wear your DOT approved helmet and eye protection. Protective clothing is recommended, too. Be sure to wear long heavy-duty pants, long sleeved shirts, and boots when you ride your ATV on these trails.
There is an abundance of wildlife in this area and especially deer are prevalent for most of the riding season. They are usually the most visible in the early morning hours when they are out foraging for food.
With 65 miles to cover, this is a perfect opportunity to make it a long weekend riding your ATV with your favorite group of riding buddies and enjoy the long trail rides, beautiful scenery and fun camping.

Black Lassic Trail - A Full Weekend of ATVing Fun
If you're looking for a destination for a long weekend of riding your ATV, you won't want to miss the amazing and marvelous Black Lassic Trail. With awe-inspiring views and rugged dirt trails, you will not regret this ATV trip.
The Black Lassic Trail has everything an ATVer will need to make it a great weekend of riding. From awesome camping to fabulous trails, this is ATV riding at its best. While there is something for everyone, from beginners to experienced ATV riders, the Black Lassic Trail has some real amazing experiences that should only be tackled by riders who have years of riding experience.
ATV riders will want to be sure and slow down as they take the waterfall loop trail and enjoy the breathless view. One trail to avoid if you are new to the sport of ATV riding, is the aptly named Devil's Backbone trail. With a very steep grade, this one is not for amateurs. The Black Lassic has difficult ATV trail loops all around, and includes some fairly steep hills. Be sure to prepare for a ride for at least four hours to make the loop if you are riding non-stop. But I suggest that you allow the better part of the day. Even better than that, take the time to turn this one into a great camping trip. There are plenty of prime camping sprinkled around the freshwater lake. If you're in the mood, throw your line in the water and see what you catch as the lake is well stocked with fish. Outdoor adventures abound for ATVers who love fishing and wildlife, as the opportunities to take in both are great. These trails provide plenty of hiking and with wildlife everywhere; there is plenty to see at Black Lassic on your ATV.

Extreme Alaskan Riding at Chugach
Alaska is wild, spoiled and untamed. The extremes in the weather make it a very challenging place to ride your ATV. In Alaska, it is not uncommon to go from bright and sunny to dark and extremely rough weather in the blink of an eye.
The Alaskan scenery in Alaska is second to none. There are half a million acres of glaciers, mountain peaks, and beautiful valleys. The local wildlife includes Grizzly bears, wolf packs; lynx, rabbits, foxes and these forest residents sometimes wander into town. Be very aware of Grizzly bears, if one has been sited close by, it's probably best to delay your ride. A Grizzly can run up to 30MPH for a longer distance than you'd think and there's no way to outrun it on your ATV. Contrary to popular belief playing dead won't faze a bear either. The best option is to quietly back off and never run away - it will tempt an otherwise merely curious bear to chase you.
The Eklutna Lakeside Trail allows ATVers from Sun-Wed, and on the Bird Creek Trails below 500-foot elevation point, both of these local trail systems are rated easy for the beginner and should provide hours of fun to new riders and experienced ATVers agree that the scenery is unequalled.
If you're interested in making a long weekend out of your stay in this area, there are campgrounds all over the area; there are picnic tables, fire pits, water, latrines, ranger station and an overflow camping area. The charge is only $10 per night.
