Safety Gear For Riding a Jetmoto Dirt Bike
When you get a new dirt bike, you should also consider updating your safety equipment. Safety gear is not only a good idea, in most places a DOT approved helmet is the Law. Speaking of helmets, let's cover some of the important points about those very necessary pieces of equipment.
Don't skimp on your helmet and by all means, don't use a helmet made for a bicycle for protection when you ride your dirt bike. Get the best helmet you can afford. It can be difference between life and death in the unfortunate circumstance of an impact. Make sure your helmet is well padded, fitted (it should fit snugly), and it should cover your entire face. Make sure your helmet is DOT certified. One last bit of advice, never use a "used" helmet. A helmet is good for one impact only and that can include that time your helmet rolled off the top of the your bookshelf and fell about 6-feet to the floor. That could have compromised the integrity of the helmet. Ditto with old helmets. If you don't know the history of a helmet, don't rely on it to protect your head. The materials helmets are made out of, in even the best helmets, corrode with time and use.
Next, goggles are a must. Full-face helmets can help protect your eyes, but goggles are a necessity for keeping dust and debris that gets kicked up by your dirt bike. When you're fretting about the price of good safety gear, weigh that against the price of a trip to the emergency room to remove a piece of debris that entered your eye going about 30mph and you will have a new appreciation for goggles when riding your dirt bike.
Also, whether you are riding the man made mounds, doubles, whoops and turns or some woodsy terrain, make sure that your arms are covered and gloves for a good grip. Additionally, make sure to wear boots that cover your ankles at the very least and heavy jeans or riding pants. Spring for a chest protector. Rocks can fly at you with amazing velocity and getting hit in the chest with a rock traveling at a good rate of speed will leave a nasty bruise if you don't protect your chest.
Being safe is smart and it starts with good gear.

Hemminway Butte OHV Trailhead
Idaho has some of the best riding areas in the country. And one of ATVA member Danny Low's favorites is not too far from Boise in the southwest portion of the state. Called the Hemminway Butte OHV Trailhead, this federal Bureau of Land Management area offers many miles of roads, trails, sand washes, and rocky terrain. Located between the Melba junction and Oreana on state Highway 78, 45 miles southwest of Boise, Hemminway Butte features more than 100 miles of trail. The Bureau of Land Management says all types of surfaces will be encountered on a ride, from sand washes to rocky terrain. In fact, Low says: ``Trails can vary from rocky, rough and steep to dried up creek beds—sand washes—that are sandy, flat and curvy. Also, elevations vary greatly, so expect to be doing some uphill riding as well as playing in the flat stuff.
The difficulty of the trail ranges from moderate to difficult. Low says that from the Hemminway Butte OHV Trailhead parking areas you can see the Owyhee Mountains off in the distance. Facilities are scarce, he warns, and there is no water so you better bring a lot of it. Low also says that cell phone signals in the area range from fair to poor, depending on your elevation and position. So don't be dependent on your cell phone if you get in trouble and need help.
Trails go for miles and miles in all directions, he says, and the mountains are dry and remote. Some of the trails follow old fence lines on Bureau of Land Management land. While riding in the area, keep an eye out for hikers, campers and others sharing the trails. There is primitive camping there. There is no fee to enjoy the area, which is part of the Bureau of Land Management's Owyhee Recreation Management Area. To get to the Hemminway Butte OHV Trailhead, take U.S. 84 to Nampa, then take the exit to state Highway 55. Turn onto state Highway 78 in Marsing and look for signs that will direct you to the trailhead.

Take Your ATV to East Fork Rock
If you have a group of ATVers and you can't find trails to please every member's riding skills, The East Fork Rock OHV trail system is waiting for you and your group.
The ATV trails are well marked and mapped and provide a full range of difficulty from easiest to very difficult. East Fork provides 318 miles of trail for casual and competitive use covering about 110,000 acres and ranging in elevation from 4400 to 6400 feet.
In order to ride these ATV trails, your ATV must measure less than 50" across. Oregon has very strict rules for ATV riders - know and follow the regs to the letter and always wear your helmet, it's not just good common sense, it's the Law! On these well-marked ATV trails, the rules are very simple. If a trail doesn't have a sign reading that it is open, consider the trail closed. Additionally, The ATV trails are open to horses, mountain bikes, and other weekend warriors, so please watch for others and ride carefully.
About half of the ATV trail area is within the Fox Butte Green Dot Area that restricts access to designated roads during the general deer-hunting season. This is roughly a two-week period form late September to mid-October, and any roads or trails within the Green Dot Area will be subject to Green Dot restrictions. Oregon has a "leave no trace" rules for ATV riders. The ATV trail system is open all year, however hot, dusty conditions normally inhibit riding from mid-July through September and cold, snowy conditions inhibit riding from mid-December through March.

Take Your Jetmoto ATV to Chalk Mountain Unimproved Road
This is a short trail you can ride in one afternoon. It's a great trail to take your Jetmoto. At just under 3-miles, this ATV trail will take your through some winding, densely wooded areas that are a really enjoyable ride. The ATV trail is rated as easy so it is a fantastic spot for beginning ATVers to get their feet wet for maneuvering their ATVs. The ATV trails are open from June thru September and be aware you will be sharing these trails with horseback riders, motorcyclists and mountain bikers.
Chalk Mountain Road will take ATV rides through old growth spruce/fir forest and alpine meadows. An interesting side note about Chalk Mountain is that during the 1970s, Chalk Mountain served as site of an observatory constructed by Louisiana State University.
The road itself provides good views of Mount of the Holy Cross, Chicago Ridge and a mining operation. Before you ride, the Forest Service asks that you do always do a pre-ride inspection of your ATV to make sure it is in good working order. Too many times, people get stuck out on the trails simply because they didn't do a little preventive maintenance on their ATVs. It only takes a minute to assure your ATV is mechanically sound and you won't have to worry about anything interrupting your fun riding the ATV trails.
The National Forest requires that you wear your ATV helmet at all times and you must stop and register your ATV at the Forest Ranger's station where you will be given a sticker that must be prominently displayed at all times when you ride.

Great Places in California to Ride Your Jetmoto Dirt Bike
California has a large number of fantastic places to ride your Jetmoto Dirt Bike. The Jetmoto Enduro is green stickered in California and that means that it meets the strict emissions standards that is now required for dirt bikes and all terrain vehicles.
With so many types of terrain to ride your Jetmoto on, from mountains, rugged terrain, sandy areas, and out of this world dirt tracks, there is something for every rider's skill level in California.
One great place to ride your Jetmoto is Adelanto MX that has a great variety of hills and jumps. If you're looking for a more extreme ride on your Jetmoto check out Carlsbad MX in Carlsbad. It has a good number of jumps, turns, doubles and down hills of varying difficulty on their riding course. If you prefer the landscaping skills of Mother Nature herself instead of a man-made dirt track, then Clear Creek in Coalinga is for you. Take you Jetmoto dirt bike out and you will find this area has a lot of great natural terrain to ride on, lots of rolling hills for your motocross riding pleasure.
Another natural ride is found at LaGrange MX in LaGrange that has 750 wildly grown acres of mainly hills and flat sandy areas with some ponds. The Mammoth Bar in Auburn offers a lot of man-made hills and rolls to get your ride on with and all the usual amenities including cleaning up areas and water. If you enjoy night riding, Marysville has bright lights so you can ride their hills and valleys well after dark. Phillipsville MX is a full service motocross track with all the bells and whistles you've come to expect of a larger park. Piedro Hills in Fresno garners a mention not only due to their fun open hill and several large jumps, but admission is free, which is always the right price!
And that just scratches the surfaces of great places to ride your Jetmoto. Now that you know some fun spots to go get your wheels dirty, jump on and have a great time on your dirt bike!

Take a Ride at Cabin Ridge Motorized ATV Trail
The Pike National Forest has a 4-mile long ATV trail that is often overlooked because it is so small. This little stretch of trail is rated easy and if you are a beginning ATVer or you just want a relaxing ride to admire the scenery, this is the place to go. The trail is open from May through October.
Newer ATVers can practice important maneuvering skills on their ATVs as well as pick up new ones. The ATV trail is densely foliaged and doesn't get a huge amount of traffic but you can expect to see people often when you ride. You have the potential to run into other ATVers, hikers, bikers, and motorcycle riders at any point because this ATV trail connects with trails 657, 674, 676, and 677.
Since this is a National Forest managed land, be sure to wear your helmet as required at all times and no passengers are allowed on ATVs, even two-seaters. You will need to register your ATV at the Ranger's station where you ATV will be inspected to insure you have a noise muffler and a spark arrestor installed on your ATV. You will be given a permit to ride and that permit must be displayed in an easy-to-see position on your ATV. They also ask that you adhere to the standards set forth by Treadlightly. You will be protecting the natural riding resources of the area by doing so.
In order to keep these trails in good riding condition, periodically the National Forest Service closes off portions of trails and reopens other trails so vegetation can reclaim itself. Always get a map of the most current open trails to ride your ATV on.

Make Your Next ATV Ride Buckeye Gulch
Looking for a short trail that is rated a little more difficult? Most National Forest ATV trails are rated easy and they are indeed a fun ride, but sometimes when you ride, you want something a little more challenging for your ATV skills. You want to hit some inclines, climb a little rock and see what your ATV can really do.
Buckeye Gulch is located in the San Isabel National Forest and is only 2 miles long but it is rated as moderate to difficult on this multi-use trail. You will run into four-wheelers, hikers, motorcycle riders, and mountain bikers; ride friendly.
The National Forest Service does ask that you register your ATV with the ranger's station before you ride. They will inspect your ATV for noise mufflers and spark arrestors and other items on your ATV such as brakes and headlights. You will be given a permit to ride and that permit but be in clear sight on your ATV. Be sure and wear your DOT approved helmet and always tell others where you are riding, better yet - leave them a map of your route. If you get stranded where no cell phone can get a signal, that can make your wait time a lot shorter if they know exactly where to look for you.
Buckeye Gulch is a rough and ready road to ride your ATV. A good portion has quite a bit of rocky, rough terrain. There is also a stream to cross amidst some dense lush foliage that includes willows and shrubs. Follow the Treadlightly standards when crossing streams on your ATV to do the least amount of damage possible to the natural beauty of Buckeye Gulch.
You can get the most current maps available from ranger's station. Get ready for a fun and challenging ride!

A Great Ride at Bear Creek Motorized ATV Trail
If you are looking for a low-use ATV trail, the Bear Creek is located in the Pike National Forest has light traffic. The trail is open to hikers, motorcycles, horseback riders and mountain bikers.
This is a very difficult ATV trail and although it is only 7 miles long, even seasoned ATV riders will find it one very challenging ride. Because this is a very challenging ATV trail to ride, be safe and always use your most conservative judgment when mapping out terrain on which to ride your ATV. To give you a basic idea of the sheer steepness of this road, this trail climbs from 6400 feet to 8000 feet within a mile and a half span of road. This is a very steep grade and should only be attempted by the most experienced of ATV riders.
These trails are extremely slippery when wet, if the trail seems wet, it might be best to not ride that day, as you need the ultimate in grip and traction on your tires to get up this ATV trail.
Also, it's never a good idea to ride alone but never go riding by yourself on an extremely difficult trail as this one. Always tell someone where you are going to ride your ATV and when to expect you back from your ATV ride. Leaving a map of your route is also smart.
Forest Service regulations require that you have a ATV permit displayed on your ATV in a clearly visible spot and that you have a muffler and spark arrestor installed on your ATV prior to riding. If you are under the age of 18, you are required to wear a DOT approved helmet, and as you know, no matter what your age it's just a good idea!

Bad ATV Habits
Riding an ATV is a lot of fun and millions of people enjoy using one of these fun machines for work or play and in many cases: both. ATVs are built with more safety features than ever, but the greatest responsibility for being safe still falls on the rider.
Many of the injuries that have occurred with ATV riders could have been prevented through knowing how to operate their machines safely. The following are things you should never, ever do on your ATV:
*Never ride without your helmet and goggles. Make your personal safety a priority.
*Never allow children and young people under the age of 16 to ride adult ATVs (with engines bigger than 90 cubic centimeters).
*Never operate an ATV without proper instruction. Training classes are available nearly everywhere and many times they are free or just a nominal charge. Well worth the price to learn ATV handling skills and techniques.
*Never allow children to ride their ATVs without adult supervision.
*Never drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, this shouldn't even be an issue, but recent studies show over half of all ATV accidents had drugs and/or alcohol involved. No matter who you are or how much you think this doesn't apply to you: No one under the influence has good judgment.
*Never drive an ATV with a passenger, and never ride as a passenger.
*If you must ride alone, Always tell someone where you are going and when you will return. Even better, leave a map detailing your route. Cell phones may or may not be able to get a signal in remote areas.
*Never leave trash behind, if you bring it in with you, bring it out with you is a good policy to follow.
*Never ride on another's land without asking. Some folks just aren't too accommodating to ATV riders (they've obviously never driven an ATV or they'd be opening new trails all over)!
*Never disregard your State Laws and Regulations for riding ATVs. This can cost you, in the most literal sense of the word. Getting a ticket and taking time to go down to the courthouse and pay it is a big time waster when you could be riding your ATV. Avoid the trip and follow the rules.
Now that we've told you what you should never do on your ATV, remember these "do's and don'ts" be safe and have fun!

Taking Your Jetmoto on the Fremont Utah ATV Trail
The Freemont Trail in Utah is a great place to ride your new Jetmoto ATV. As with all Utah public lands. When you ride your Jetmoto here, your ATV must have a tag issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles displayed in a clearly visible place. A DOT approved helmet is also a requirement to ride on these lands. Since much of the trail is dense foliaged, shin protecting boots are smart choices as well. A branch slapping back from the ATVer in front of you, can really sting if you're not adequately protected.
Before hitting the ATV trail, do a pre-ride inspection of your Jetmoto and then you're ready to go explore the Fremont Trail! This is a large riding area that has over 50 miles of ATV trails between the Tropic Reservoir on the Paunsaugunt Plateau to where it connects to the Paiute Trail in Circleville, Utah. Although the trail is on existing roads, it gets more rugged and remote as it crosses the Limekiln, Sanford, and Smith drainages. If you are a newer or inexperienced ATVer, don't cross the drainages as the difficulty may be beyond your present riding skills.
This is a very photogenic route to take on your Jetmoto. There are red red rock cliffs, and wind your way through ponderosa pine forests - bring your camera along for this trail ride. The elevations on this trail range from 7880 feet at Tropic Reservoir to 9030 feet at Smith Canyon and dropping to 6080 in Circleville.
Do get a map from the ranger's station before you ride so you can you're your route and keep in mind, everyone's riding skills so all members in your group can have a great time riding the Fremont ATV Trail.

Taking Your Jetmoto to Brown's Camp Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area
Oregon has a great number of places to ride your ATV. You're in for a real treat if you take your Jetmoto to Brown's camp. They have a few "rules of the road" for riding. You must have your ATV sticker clearly displayed on your vehicle at all times and ATV helmets are required for anyone riding these areas. All riders must have a valid driving license or learner's permit.
The rule of "Call before you haul" applies to this area. Trails that you love to ride your Jetmoto on can close suddenly and without warning. Make sure you are always planning your rides on the most current information. And when planning a ride, be sure to leave a copy of your route with someone back home so if something unforeseen happens - such as getting stranded, you can be found easily. One of the trails within Brown's, Crushers Trail has recently been redesigned and is a more scenic ATV rides. Gummy Worm trail, so named because of it's winding and curving nature, is currently being cleared but will reopen soon. It is a short and sweet ATV ride with lots of easy navigation, if you recently bought a Jetmoto for the first time; these easy trails are fun to practice maneuvering on.
Firebreak 5 Trail is another easy ride that is great for beginning Jetmoto riders but if the weather has been or is wet, this section of trail won't be open to prevent further trail damage and erosion.
To further help Mother Nature along, respect the trails when you ride, don't ride your Jetmoto ATV on wet trails and remember if you bring it into the trail, bring it out of the trail and leave no trace of your ATV ride behind!

Locust Stake ORV with Your Jetmoto
If you live in Northern Georgia and you want to ride your new Jetmoto ATV, a great place to go is the Locust Stake ORV Area in the Chattooga Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest.
Since this is a federally managed land, you need to have your spark arrestor and noise muffler in place before you ride. There are 17-miles of trails that range in difficult from very easy to very difficult. Out on the trail isn't the time to decide you want to learn new maneuvering skills on your Jetmoto ATV, if you have no experience riding rough terrain, take along a very experienced rider and observe how they do it, but don't try yourself until you and the more experienced ATVer both agree that you're ready for the challenge. The rocks and hills will always be there for the riding, take your time and really learn the nuances of your individual ATV.
There is no camping allowed in this area, however Lake Russell Campground and Beach, where campsites overlook a 100-acre lake, is located just over 10-miles away to the South. If you brought your kids along for the ride, they will thoroughly enjoy this stop. There is a clean grassy lakeside beach, water slide, showers and changing area along with hiking trails, horseshoe pits and a convenience store to pick up those little things you might have forgotten.

Hemminway Butte with Your Jetmoto
Idaho has some great riding opportunities and Hemminway Butte is counted among them. If you have been lucky enough to get one of the new Jetmoto ATVs and you are looking for a place in Southwest Idaho to take that baby for a spin, Hemminway Butte is the spot. The Bureau of Land Management manages this riding area and since it is a federally managed property, you will need to be sure you are wearing your helmet and goggles at all times when you ride. Also, you will need to have a spark arrestor and noise muffler installed on your ATV prior to riding these lands.
Hemminway Butte has a really diverse amount of terrain to choose from. You can take your Jetmoto ATV over many miles of roads, trails, sand washes, and rocky terrain. Also, if you're wanting to experience some uphill riding, that is available too. If you're a newer participant in the sport of ATVing, there are a good number of areas that are flat and will allow you to get comfortable maneuvering your Jetmoto ATV around the area. These ATV trails range from moderate to difficult. If you are not an experienced ATVer, don't try to tackle the more difficult trails or you find yourself in over your head. Also, there is no water in the area suitable for drinking so be sure to pack along plenty of water for your ride. Depending on your elevation, cell phones may or may not work.
Primitive camping is allowed, just remember, and leave the area cleaner than you found it. There is no fee to enjoy this area on your Jetmoto ATV and it sees a fairly steady use from hikers and ATVers.

Bluff Creek ORV Park - Great Jetmoto Ride!
The Bluff Creek ORV Park is over 300-acres of very diverse riding terrain that will let you open up your Jetmoto and really see what it can do on various types of terrain. If you are newer to ATVing and you're looking to improve your riding skills, take along an experienced rider to show you the ropes and you can practice maneuvering your ATV on gravel, sand, mud, and inclines. This one venue offers a large number of terrain riding choices.
Bluff Creek has been open since 1992 and is on land that was formerly strip coalmines. This makes for some great riding terrain for you and your ATV.
There are wooded areas that have fun trails that twist and turn around the trees. If you are newer to ATVing, these are ideal for spending an afternoon tooling around. There are random hills on these trails to give riders practice standing and riding on inclines.
If you get lost easily still on the trails, there is an outer perimeter trail that will always bring you back around to the parking lot. If you're riding with a large group, make a rule before you ride that if anyone gets separated from the group, to just take the perimeter back to the parking lot at a designated time and that way everyone can have a good time riding their ATVs and the occasional separation of a member won't mean spending time away from riding to find them.
The open hours to ride are dawn to dusk but you're welcome to camp overnight. Showers and toilets are not available, but are scheduled to be constructed in the near future. Take Your Jetmoto to South Fork Dirt Riders in Taylorville, Illinois
If you just got your new Jetmoto then you're probably looking for someplace to ride it. If you live in the Taylorville area, you're in luck. The Southfork Dirt Riders opened about three years ago and already had over 300-acres of ATV riding run, they just added over 115-acres to their existing area.
This is a great venue for new as well as experienced ATVers. South Fork is one of the newer ATV riding facilities and has modern bathroom facilities complete with showers so you can get as dirty as you want on the trails and still go home smelling fresh as a daisy. If you enjoy packing a basket and having a picnic with your riding buddies, they have picnic areas and if you would rather have a breakfast or lunch made hot and fresh, they have a full service concession stand that is rumored to have a killer steak sandwich.
If you are an ATVer that enjoys riding your Jetmoto on the trails, there are over 20-miles of trails that are perfect for both experienced and newbie ATVers. They have devised a good number of variations on these riding trails with densely forested woods, mud bogs to get your wheels dirty in, open trails for just cruising on your Jetmoto, hill climbs - great for learning with an experienced ATVer. You will see a lot of local woodland residents, especially if you're riding your Jetmoto in the early morning or late afternoon hours. South Fork also plants wildlife feed plots in cooperation with the organizations, Pheasants Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, and the Wild Turkey Federation.
If your Jetmoto is your first ATV or you bought it for someone who is riding for the first time, South Fork has free ATV Safety Institute classes that are regularly conducted on site. Even if you already think you know all there is to know about riding an ATV, take a free safety class and you just might find you'll still have a lesson or two to learn about safe handling of your ATV.
South Fork is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to dusk. Although riding closes at dusk - even if you have headlights on your ATV, your time at Southfork doesn't have to end. You can set up camp and enjoy a fun time around a campfire with your friends or even indulge in a little fishing at the nearby creek. Redbird State Riding Area With Your Jetmoto
If you live in Southwestern Indiana and you're looking for a fun spot to get the wheels dirty on your new Jetmoto ATV, Redbird State Riding Area will be a choice destination for you and your Jetmoto. The park is on the remains of a former coal mine which has been out of commission since the 1950s. It has a good number of hills, inclines, and a lot of mud to roll through. The park is supported by fees paid by the ATVers and in the form of monies from the Federal Recreational Trail Fun.
Redbird is a very economical ride at only $10 per day. Your ATV must be registered with the Department of Natural Resources in the State of Indiana unless you are an out of state rider and your ATV is already registered in your home state. The Park reopens April 6th, 2006 and at the time of this writing, the parking, shelter and restroom facilities were under construction, but had not been completed. The park will be open on weekends and holidays only from 9AM to 5PM.
There is no alcohol allowed and all ATVs must have spark arrestors and mufflers installed prior to riding the area. Helmets and boots that come over the ankle are required to ride Redbird. Eye protection is not required but is good common sense as debris gets kicked up often and at a fast pace and you shouldn't rely on your helmet's full face visor to fully protect your eyes. Sometimes rocks and other roost can fly straight up.

The Badlands Off-Road Park with Your Jetmoto-One Bad Ride
If you live in Western Indiana and you want a new place to go ride your new Jetmoto ATV, take a spin at the Badlands Off-Road Park. The Badlands is a privately owned riding area that has over 800-acres of sand dunes, pea gravel hills, bottomless mud to test your skills in, off-trail woods trails, extreme rock-crawling areas and more.
The owners wanted to develop a family friendly riding area, that would encourage family outings, safety and fun. They have several different riding areas including one for children just starting out with an average age of 3. Motorcycles or ATVs must be 100cc or less for this riding area.
This is a great place to bring your camera along for the ATV ride. If you are riding in the early morning hours or near dusk, you can get photos of the sunrise and sunsets and the wildlife residents of the area such as deer, fox, or coyotes. If you happen to be riding your ATV on a really hot day, they even installed a great way to cool off as the park has two huge drain tiles to race through, jumping into a pool of water. And if you love getting dirty, really down and dirty on your ATV, they have very large mud areas to roll through.
The park is open everyday of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving. The hours of operation are 9AM to 5PM weekdays and weekends. The rules to ride are very simple:
*No alcohol on the property.
*Helmets are required at all times, and boots.
*Flags are required. Flags are sold on-site if you don't bring your own.
*No riding double.
*There is a 5 mph speed limit in parking areas.
*No littering.
*You must sign a waiver of liability.

Another Great Jetmoto Colorado Destination: Gunnison National Forest
Before you ride in your Jetmoto in Gunnison National Forest, make sure you have the rules and regulations straight for riding on federally managed lands. You must have your Jetmoto ATV registered in your own state (be ready to show proof) or you must register your Jetmoto ATV with the Parks and Wildlife Department before you ride. Additionally, you must have a noise muffler installed that keeps your engine muffled below 86 decibels, a baby cries at 100 decibels on the average to give you a basic idea of the threshold for noise. Also, you must have a spark arrestor installed before riding, as the odd spark from your ATV can cause a devastating fire.
The trailhead for Gunnison is located in Pitkin that has a rich history and is very scenic. This is a great area for photographs. Almost any direction you take your Jetmoto on these ATV trails will lead to an adventure through any one of numerous ghost towns, long closed gold and silver mines, and miles of fantastic ATVing. Ride past the mines but never enter a mine. If you aren't familiar with old mines, unsafe mining practices from long ago, caused pockets of gas to form that can kill you in minutes. You cannot see, nor smell the gas. Never explore the interior of an old mine on your own. Additionally, many of these mines are now bat habitats that you can most definitely smell and disturbing the front of a mine can get you face to face with a lot of flapping bats.
An interesting part of the Gunnison is the Alpine Tunnel which is a tunnel chiseled out of solid granite at an elevation of 11,500-feet that has been in use since the 1880s.
After a day or riding, you can opt for primitive camping with your Jetmoto or you can choose one of the campgrounds where you can actually build a fire and have bathroom facilities. With so much to see and do, riding your Jetmoto is a dream at the Gunnison National Forest.

Riding Your Jetmoto at Wolf Pen Gap Trail
If you're going to be in the Arkansas area with your new Jetmoto ATV in the near future, make Wolf Pen Gap Trail a destination for your next ride.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced ATVer, these trails truly have something to make everyone feel challenged. The ATV trails are marked from easiest to most difficult so you know ahead to time the type of trail that you're riding your Jetmoto on. If you are new to ATVing, stick to the easier trails until you are comfortable handling your Jetmoto on those trails then go to the Intermediate rated trails before you tackle the hard trails which even experienced ATVers who know exactly what they their machines can and can not do report as a riding challenge.
Some parts of these trails will be marked closed. This is so portions of the trail can reclaim itself and be opened at a later date as a fresh ATV riding trail. Do not ride on these closed trails.
There are a good number of clear rivers and sparkling streams and even a small waterfall or two. No ATVs in the streams and only cross at the designated points. If you brought your fishing gear, park your Jetmoto and drown a few worms, the fishing is reported to be pretty good here. If you wish, primitive camping is permitted at any one of the three separate trailheads. If your idea of camping includes a roof and hot meals, there are cabins available at the Wolf Pen ATV Campground.
Mena is closest town to these trails. If you need any supplies or you forgot anything you can probably find it in town which is located about 9-miles away from the ATV trails.

Rampage Your Jetmoto at Rampart Range
If you're looking to make a long weekend of riding your Jetmoto ATV in Colorado, Rampart Range is a great destination for you and your ATV riding buddies. There are hundreds of well-marked trails that make it easy for the beginner as well as the experienced ATVer to have a great time riding this trail system.
Colorado has been experiencing drought conditions for the past few years and spark arrestors installed on your ATV prior to riding are now the law and not just a good idea. One unnoticed spark from your ATV on some dry underbrush can cause a raging forest fire. There are expansive forests of aspen and pine in this area and many trees in the forest stay green no matter what time of year you and your Jetmoto are taking ride through. There are great numbers of boulders scattered throughout the ATV trail systems. They make interesting obstacles to navigate your Jetmoto around.
There's one thing on this ATV trail ride you won't have happen to often. There is a restaurant located on trail #673. The Sprucewood encourages ATVers to visit their eatery in helmets and boots; matter of fact, riding attire is the normal mode of dress here. If you need gas, snack, or a trail map you can get it all here.
There are several good places to camp around the range. This is especially good if you're making a full weekend of it. You can ride your Jetmoto with your group of ATVers, pack it in when you're done riding for the day and have an enjoyable night with your friends and get up and do it again the next day.
Your Jetmoto will handle all the types of terrain on these trails from rocky to rough to curving, winding forest trails - your Jetmoto is ready to take you to Rampart Range!

Riding Your Jetmoto on the Kentuck ORV Trail
Looking for a great place to ride your new Jetmoto ATV? Try the Kentuck ORV Trail in Munford, Alabama. The ATV trails have slight slopes and great turns and most of the terrain is fairly smooth and both new and experienced ATVers will enjoy the ride here.
The Kentuck ATV trails are located about 60 miles east of Birmingham and if you're looking for a group to ride with, the Cheaha Trail Riders are riding their OHVs in this area almost every weekend from April through November. The group is also active in maintaining this area to keep the ATV trails open in conjuction with the National Forest Service. Along with "Courtesy Patrol" which is a service to inform and educate riders on good techniques when riding on these lands. Treadlightly when you ride your Jetmoto in these areas and remember, safety gear is a must and if you bring it in with you, pack it out.
There is a good deal of animal life and if you enjoy photographing nature, ride the ATV trails in the early morning or late afternoon hours and you'll get some great shots of the local forest residents.
These lush lands are well maintained and perfect for learning maneuvering techniques for your Jetmoto. The turns are not too sharp and the inclines are not too high for a new rider. The Jetmoto 150cc is perfect for the narrow ATV trail systems and both new and experienced ATVers will just enjoy the ride!

Riding Your Jetmoto At Hungry Valley
Hungry Valley offers up a huge amount of riding for you and your new Jetmoto. Logging in at 19,000-acres, Hungry Valley is the second largest riding area under the watchful eye of the California State Park's OHV Division.
There are a number of good ATV trail ratings. Whether you're taking your Jetmoto out for the first time or you're been riding longer than you care to tell, you will find a trail in the Hungry Valley trail system to match your riding mood. If you want a good relaxing ride on your Jetmoto, hit the easy trails and enjoy the scenery. If you want to challenge your Jetmoto and you're experienced at handling an ATV, try some of the harder trails and let your Jetmoto show you why it is one of the hottest selling ATVs on the market today.
Hungry Valley is divided into use zones so no particular area gets eroded from overuse. Be sure to get a current map so you can play your ride and just as important, you can also let people know where you will be riding just to play it safe. There are many types of terrain here to test out your Jetmoto skills upon. From flat areas, sandy washes, rolling hills and steep areas to climb. Do not attempt the latter unless you've done it and you have an experienced ATVer with you. Never attempt to tackle a steep incline on your own or when alone.

Hahn's Peak - Jetmoto Heaven
Colorado is well known as having a huge amount of riding fun for any ATVer. Taking your Jetmoto to Hahn's Peak will be a great time for you and your riding buddies. There are mountains, views of the forest as well as snow-capped mountains in the distance and a multitude of terrain choices all in one area: forests of pine and aspen, flat open fields, lakes to ride around and streams to ford.
The elevations in Hahn's Peak go from around 8,000-feet to 10,000-feet above sea level. It is located in the northern part of Colorado, about 200-miles northwest of Denver. Hahn's Peak itself rises about 10,000-feet above sea level and Farwell Mountain is equally as high and gives a great view well worth the climb in your ATV.
Farwell Mountain is well known for the wonderful view you get as a reward for riding your ATV to the top; this is a great trip to bring your camera along for the ride. There is a curvy, winding ATV trail that will take you past Steamboat Lake and over the tree line to the top of Farwell Mountain. Snap some photos to show your friends this fantastic view truly is worth the long ride.
Also, you can ride Hahn's trail into Wyoming and hit two states in one ride on your Jetmoto ATV. You will find a lot of snow in the higher elevations so be sure to dress in layers so you can stay comfortable during your time ATVing.
Be aware the Colorado State Law requires that all ATVs being driven in the state are required to be registered with the Colorado Parks Department if your state doesn't require registration.
