Riding at Tri County ATV Park
If you're looking for an easy ATV ride, look no further than the The Tri County ATV Park. This is a very well taken care of facility that offers up just over 13-acres of ATV riding fun that is open all year round. There is an additional trail shelter and a small picnic area in case you and your ATV buddies want to stop and have a great picnic.
If you happen to be riding your ATV in on these trails in the early morning and early evening hours, you will probably see some of the wildlife residents of this area checking you out quietly from behind the brush as you ride your ATV along the trail.
In the future, these trails will be expanded to be even larger and there will be over 25-miles of ATV riding trails and an additional riding area and a classroom building is planned as part of the expansion.
Be sure to wear your DOT approved helmet and other safety gear, especially gloves and goggles. These trails are well maintained, but getting debris kicked up is a good possibility, googles will keep any debris from lodging in your eyes and gloves will help you maintain a good grip on your ATV.
These trails are not designated as multi-use and ATVs only are allowed to be driven on them. The trails are rated easy and even new ATVers will enjoy the well marked and maintained trails that offer up an easy ATV ride.
If you're looking for a fun day of easy ATV riding, look no further than Tri County ATV Park for your next fun day of ATVing with your friends.

Round River ATV Riding (Minnesota)
This ATV trail has a couple of different difficulty levels but provides a good ATV ride for new and experienced riders alike. This ATV riding area takes it name from the Paul Bunyan legends, and the trail is located on the outskirts of the Paul Bunyan State Forest.
These ATV trails are well maintained and well marked, and as all forest service managed lands, they ask that you stay on the designated trails and do not go trailblazing as this is bad for the preservation of the land. Periodically, certain trails are closed and others opened for riding ATVs so the used trails will have a chance to reclaim themselves and all the forest area to retain most of its natural vegetation even though it is in constant use.
Additionally, safety gear is a rule on these lands when riding your ATV. You must wear a DOT approved helmet, goggles and if you don't have an ATV riding suit, long sleeves and long pants are a must.
You will see a green circle marking many of the trails, that indicates the level of skill needed to navigate this section of ATV trail is low and these trails are rated easy as the trails are flat, almost roadlike, with very few obstacles.
If you see a blue square, you are about to encounter more difficult trails on your ATV ride, which includes narrower trails, steep hills and switchbacks and the occasional obstacle. More experienced ATVers will thoroughly enjoy these trails.
The riding season is May through November and there are approximately 60-miles of ATV trails to enjoy.

Riding Your ATV At Soo Line North (Minnesota)
The Soo Line North ATV Trail is a 148-mile ATV trail that is made up of three main sections. Moose Lake to Lawler, from Lawler to Shovel Lake, from Shovel Lake to Cass Lake.
This ATV trail is for ATVs only and that should be the only traffic you encounter on these trails. There are several large bogs in the area, so make sure you know the proper techniques for fording watery obstacles in your ATVs path.
Portions of this ATV run through the Hill River State Forest, Bowstring State Forest, and Chippewa National Forest. These are well maintained and densely forested areas and if you ride your ATV in the early morning or early evening hours, you are likely to encounter many of the forest residents as there is an abundance of wildlife.
Portions of this ATV trail are open April 1 - November 30 and other areas are open all year round. Check with the local Forest Office that manages the trail areas before hauling your ATV out to make sure these ATV trails are open for riding.
All of these ATV trails are rated easy and fantastic for newer ATVers to learn valuable manuvering skills as there are few obstacles and the terrain for riding an ATV is almost roadlike. The flat terrain makes for some easy handling of your ATV. More experienced ATV riders will enjoy the easy ride and the scenery. If you want to make a weekend out of riding these ATV trails with your friends, there is food, lodging, and gas available in the nearly town of Moose Lake.
Soo Line North is waiting to show you and your ATV riding friends a great day or even a weekend, visit soon!

The ATV Trails of Soo Pits (Minnesota)
This is a great place to ride your ATV with your buddies. The Soo Pits Trails are located near Moose Lake just by the Soo Line ATV trail, this ATV riding site is a former gravel pit and offers up some challenges in navigation and an all around fun ride on your ATV due to the looseness of the terrain.
There trails are designated as multi-use trails so not only will you encounter other ATV riders, your liklihood of meeting other OHV riders such as motorcycles is likely. Make sure and follow standard safety rules for meeting other types of OHV traffic when riding these trails.
If you need food, restroom facilities, gas or lodging, you will find it in nearby Moose Lake. As with all ATV riding facilities and trails, make sure that you have your DOT approved helmet and you are wearing gloves and goggles at the very least. Riding safely is just good sense.
The riding season is April 1 through November 30 and these ATV trails are short at just under 5-miles. The ATV trails are rated easiest to ride and even the most novice of ATVers will enjoy manuevering their machines over these trails. The gravel is loose, but the flatness and lack of obstacles make the ATV trails almost road like and a great place for newer ATV riders to gain confidence in their ATV handling skills.
More experienced ATVers will enjoy these trails simply for the easy ride, there isn't much in the way of potholes, dips or inclines to navigate, just a good flat ride.
If you're going to be in the vicinity, check out Soo Pits ATV trails for an easy day of ATVing fun.

If you and your ATV riding friends are looking for a weekend of fun riding your machines, you will love the Soo Line South ATV Trail.
The Soo Line South ATV Trail is around 114-miles long and begins in Saunders Junction, Wisconsin (near Superior) and runs southwesterly through Douglas County, Wisconsin, and ends at Genola, Minnesota.
This ATV trail is very scenic and will include a great mix of forested areas, farmland, and rivers and streams to ford on the Kettle River and Birch Creek and includes portions of the Northern Pine Riders ATV Trail.
These trails are not designated for multi-use, and other ATV riders are all you should encounter unless you happen to be riding in the early morning or early evening hours and then you should encounter a myriad of woodland residents who will probably by curiously looking at you and your ATV.
These ATV trails have a limited riding time of April 1 - November 30 of each year. Portions of the ATV trail that are located in Carlton County are open all year around, that accounts for about 41-miles of the total trail.

ATV riders of every skill level will find something to love about these trails. You can have a great weekend tooling the ATV trails and just enjoying the scenary, or if you are a newer ATVer you can get some valuable handling experience. Riding Your ATV At RJ Dorer State Forest OHV Trails
RJ Dorer State Forest is located in Minnesota and is managed by two separate agencies, Snake Creek Management Unit OHV Trails and Trout Valley Management Unit OHV Trails.
The Snake Creek Management section of the RJ Dorer ATV trail system is open from May 1 - November 1 (watch for seasonal closings) as this is Minnesota and the snow can happen in the blink of an eye.
The ATV trails are rated easy and are a great place for newer ATV riders to hone their navigational skills of their ATVs. Easy ATV trails are the most highly-developed class of trails (almost roadlike) with no steep hills and few obstacles. These ATV trails are only 13 miles long with restroom facilities and even lodging is available in case you want to spend the night and get up early and ride these ATV trails again.
The Trout Valley Managed ATV trails include easy trails on 7 mile network. An additional bonus for riding your ATV on these trails is these trails go right past Trout Creek and if you brought your fishing gear and you have a current fishing permit, park your ATV and cast out a few lines. You and your ATV buddies might be having trout for dinner!
There are a number of streams and valleys to overlook in both sets of ATV trails and many photogenic spots, make sure to pack your camera along for the ATV ride.
If you happen to riding your ATV in the early morning or evening hours, you are certain to see abundant wildlife in the area.
Also, dress for these ATV trails. Wear layers so you stay adequetely heated in the early and late parts of the riding season, and no matter what time of year you ride your ATV in this area, always pack along some water.

Marineau ATV Trails
Bring your ATV to the Marineau Trails for the time of your life. This is a great place to enjoy the sport of ATVing and getting back to nature.
The ATV trails of Marineau, is in the great Paul Bunyan State Forest in Hubbard County. If coming from Walker, it will be 10 miles west on Highway 34 to Highway 64, then go north for about 5 miles to a trail marker that has loop 1 going west or loop 2 that is going east. This ATV trail is about 67 miles in length and is open from May 1 to November 1, depending on the weather conditions.
These trails are used by others enjoying their sport as well, so caution must be enforced at all times. Never ride side by side or double. Keep a watch as you ride the trails because there may be obstacles in the trail as this is a heavily forested area. If you are riding in the early morning or evening, be on the looking out local wildlife residents that might be crossing your path.
Whatever you do, make sure you do a complete systems check on your ATV before heading out. You want your vehicle running in tip top condition. It takes a mighty big beating out there. The tires on your ATV are very important too. Check the tread and the air pressure as well.
This is a great ATV trail from the novice to the most experienced of ATV riders. There are two loops, when combined makes it a great trail for ATV's. The terrain is very rough and hilly, with lots of quick turns and some steep climbs to test your maneuvering skills.

Iron Range OHV Recreational Area
ATVs are just one of the sports that will be out and about in the Iron Range for OHV Recreational vehicles. This is a big place with lots of fun for all, especially ATVers.
This area is located in St. Louis County, so if you are coming from Gilbert, go east on Highway 135, the entrance will be on Enterprise Trail. This particular part of the area is about 25 miles in length and is open all year, but during spring, winter, and fall, only on the weekends. When deer season is open to hunters with firearms this area is closed to ATVers for obvious reasons.
The entire Iron Range is about 1200 acres for ATV riders to catch the thrills while enjoying the scenery. This area used to be a mining place, so it is full of iron ore pits, ore stockpiles and tailings basins. Even though this ATV area is for all levels, caution is advised at all times as the terrain can be very gravelly and loose in some places.
If you have never driven on terrain like this before, make sure you have an experienced ATVer along for the ride to help anyone who needs to improve or learn skills for navigating their ATVs on this type of terrain. Also, be sure to wear your DOT approved helmet at all times when operating your ATV and if you are the type that relies on the visor of your helmet to protect your eyes, get a pair of goggles as gravel can and will get kicked up by your own and other ATVs and a piece of flying gravel hurts unbelievably bad and can be prevented by simply wearing your goggles correctly.

The ATV Trails at Gen C.C. Andrews State Forest
The Gen C.C. Andrews State Forest is a great place for you to take out your ATV and test your skills while enjoying a wonderful State Forest as well.
This State Forest is located in Pine County, so if you are coming from Willow River go north on County Road 61 for about 2 miles, then go right for another 2 miles,go north about a 1/2 mile till you get to Dago Lake. It is about 39 miles in length and is open from April 1 to November 30, depending on the weather conditions.
This State Forest is named after General Christopher Columbus Andrews, He was a civil war general and Minnesota's first chief fire warden. Red pine and Jack cover almost the whole area of this forest. There is also, birch, aspen, and oak. Just picture this while out running your ATV. It will provide you with rolling trails with sandy soil, a fun ride on your ATV indeed.
Because there is lots to see and do, you may want to camp out with your ATV buddies, so you can see and do all that you want to. This is a beautiful place with lots to offer any ATVer wanting to test their skills.
Because of all this, watch your speed out there. It is a very popular place and you never know when someone or something might cross your path or even be lost and on the wrong trail. That is when being absolutely alert comes into play, you want to always watch for the ATV markers to make sure you are on the right ATV trail.
Excitement can get in the way of doing some important things before you head out. One of those things is doing a complete check on your ATV. Make sure it is in good running order, then go have lots of fun.

This is a wonderful trail for any ATVer for it runs through some awesome scenery. There is a forest area that is very windy and offers some rough terrain and steep slopes. Along the way, while ATVing, you may come across some patches of wild flowers or even some wildlife.

The ATV Trails of St. Croix State Forest
The St. Croix State Forest ATV Trails are about 26 miles of ATVing fun just waiting for you and your group. These ATV trails are located in the Foot Hills State Forest. The Foot Hills State Forest lands are classified as "limited," which means that motorized vehicles may operate only on trails that are clearly marked and open for that type of recreational use.
To get to St. Croix State Forest ATV Trails from Pine River, travel 12 miles west on Co Rd 2 (24th St SW), then south 1.5 miles on McKinley Forest Rd to parking area - you can unload your ATVs in this area and go from there.
The riding season for these ATV trails is April 1 - November 30, be aware of snow and ice on these trails in the early and late part of the riding season, if you haven't navigated difficult terrain before on your ATV, be sure that you have a more experienced ATV rider with you to help you learn the skills that you need to safely ride and navigate these ATV trails.
The ATV trails in this forest are well marked, stay on the trails as trailblazing is not allowed on these State Forest lands, this is so the trails can be closed periodically and allowed to reclaim themselves as new trails are opened to take their places so ATVers will always have fresh trails to ride on.
Several areas on this trail system are a little more difficult as they have steeper inclines and hills and a few streams to ford. Be careful if you haven't attempted these manuevers on your ATV before and have experienced ATVer show you the ropes.
The rest of this ATV trail system is easy and even the most novice of ATV riders will enjoy the ride as it is mostly flat and easy to ride terrain.

Tower Multi-Use ATV Trail
This is a small ATV trail by most standards, but it's worth a trip for the ride. The ATV trail connects the City of Tower to the public beach and campground at McKinley, on Lake Vermilion.
This is a multi-use trail and you will encounter other ATV riders, mountain bikers, and motorcycle riders, be aware and drive defensively. This is a great place for newer ATVers to hone their skills for navigation when other types of traffic are present on the ATV trails as this trail is short and well maintained and the newer ATV rider can concentrate on learning new maneuvering skills on their ATVs.
This trail is open from April 1 - November 30, and only closes due to inclimate weather. Call ahead to the management office to make sure the trail is open if you are planning an ATV ride and see the weather might be a little rough. This ATV trail is rated as among one of the easiest. There are few hills, few turns and mostly a nice flat surface to ride your ATV on. The trail is well maintained and clearly marked so even the newest of ATV riders can gain confidence and handling skills of their machines.
In the nearby town of Tower there are ample places to obtain food, restroom facilities, gas, and lodging in case you want to make it an overnight stay and get up and explore the ATV trail first thing in the morning.
This is a great ATV trail to let newer ATV riders gain confidence on and seasoned ATVers will enjoy the scenary and the ride and if the weather is great, ride on down by the beach and have a day of fun in the sun!

Pine Center ATV Trail
The Pine Center ATV Trail is a great place to get away and enjoy the thrills of ATVing with all of your friends. This ATV trail can be slightly tricky, so having some experience would be advisable.
This particular trail, Pine Center is located in Crow Wing County. From the junctions of county road 8 and county road 2 in Pine center, about 1 mile east right on county road 2. It is a wonderful 23 miles of fun loving ATV terrain. It is open from April 1 to November 30, depending on the weather.
The Pine Center Trail provides the ATVer with rolling wooded hills and runs by lakes and streams. There is even shelters and a picnic area to stop and enjoy a lunch break from the rigorous riding on the ATV. The cities of Pine Center and Garrison are located nearby but, in order to get to them, you will have to do some road ditch ATV riding.
As with all ATV rides, make safety of yourself your highest priority. Always wear your helmet anytime you are going to be on your ATV, no matter how short the ride. There are a lot of great options in safety gear that not only protect your body, they let you look good while your riding too.
Also, check your ATV out fully pre-ride. Tightening those bolts and checking gas and air pressure in your tires will make the difference between a great ride and you sitting there waiting for someone to come get you because you haven't maintained your ATV.
Pine Center ATV trails have yellow directional signs showing you the ways to go. Please follow them because these are the only areas in which ATVer's are allowed to use. They don't allow the ATV riders to go off the trails to help preserve the natural settings of the wilderness and keep these ATV trails great for future riders.

This is a very long trail, about 100 miles, so camping out may be in order. Being a State Forest, it is open all year, but due to weather conditions, sometimes it may be closed to OHM's.
This forest is a great place to go ATVing. It has deep stream valleys and rolling uphill terrain. It even has swampy areas as well. This kind of ATV trail system is for all levels of experience.
Because this is a State Forest, the rules are a bit more strict for riding your ATV in these areas. Don't go off the marked trails and make your own. They do require that you wear your DOT approved ATV helmet at all times when you ride these ATV trails and due to the lushness of the forest, protect your arms and legs from slapping branches and other debris that can get kicked up by other's ATVs.
The Nemadji State Forest ATV trails are a great place to spend a day riding with your friends. Next time you want to spend your day of ATVing with your friends on some terrain that is challenging yet scenic, look no further than these ATV trails.
