Ride the Trails in the Babbitt and Bear Island Areas in Minnesota

Among the great trails in this area, make the Stony Spur Trail a definite must ride. It begins in Babbitt and runs eastward, south of Bear Island area. This 4-wheeler trail is managed by the Babbitt Embarrass Area Development Association in association with the U.S. Forest Service. This trail system runs nearly 21 miles and is rated as one of the easiest 4-wheeler trails to navigate. The terrain has few hills and few curves and is nearly road-like and flat. This is a great trail system for newer 4-wheeler riders to learn their navigational skills upon and gain confidence in handling their 4-wheelers. Newer 4-wheeler riders as well as seasoned pros will enjoy the ride in this area.

The riding season for these 4-wheeler trails is from April 1 - November 30, unless the weather is inclimate and then the 4-wheeler trails will be closed to the public. Always call before you haul your 4-wheeler to the site and make sure the trails are open. Located in the nearby town of Babbit, there are facilities for food, restroom facilities, gas and lodging in case you want to overnight it and get up and start your 4-wheeler excursion the next day.

As with all US Forest Service Managed areas, these 4-wheeler trails require that you wear your DOT approved helmet at all times when operating your 4-wheeler and you must have a current license and 4-wheeler permit in plain sight on your 4-wheeler at all times. The trails on this 4-wheeler trail system are well marked and very well maintained. Even novice 4-wheeler riders won't have a problem following the trail markers. This area is densely forested and offers up a great ride for you and your 4-wheeler, next time you're looking for a fun and easy ride, look to Stony Spur II 4-wheeler Trail.
