There are a good number of places to ride your motorcycle or 4-wheeler in Georgia. The Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville is a great place to start. It is 16 miles of single riding track that loops around. A little hard for beginning riders to tackle but great for anyone with a little experience and good handling skills of their machine. These trails loop around quite a bit and it is very easy to get lost in this area, plan your ride ahead of time using the most current map. Atwood West Brow Loop at Pigeon Mountain in Lafayette is just 13 miles of single track loop and is also rated for riders of an intermediate skill level. The riding areas are formed from dirt and gravel roads. Do not rely on your face visor to protect your eyes in these areas, wear your goggles. Gravel can travel at a high velocity and manage to get in your eye when you least expect it. Much like Amicalola Falls, these are also winding trails and even though this is a relatively short trail system to ride your 4-wheeler on, getting lost is a possibility. Get a current map and plan your ride. This area is managed by the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Department at 706-295-6041
Augusta Canal in Augusta is another great place to take your 4-wheeler or motorcycle. This is a short trail at only 12-miles in length, There are two well-marked loops, a red (about 4 miles) and white (about 3 miles). If you stick to the canal, the ride can be enjoyable and fun.
