Taking Your 4-wheeler on the Fremont Utah Trail

The Freemont Trail in Utah is a great place to ride your new 4-wheeler. As with all Utah public lands. When you ride your 4-wheeler here, you must have a tag issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles displayed in a clearly visible place. A DOT approved helmet is also a requirement to ride your 4-wheeler on these lands. Since much of the trail is dense foliaged, shin protecting boots are smart choices as well. A branches can scratch and on narrow trails, it is a great idea to protect your arms, legs and shins from the sometimes rough branches from bushes and trees.

Before hitting the 4-wheeler trail, do a pre-ride inspection of your machine and then you're ready to go explore the Fremont Trail! This is a large riding area that has over 50 miles of ATV trails between the Tropic Reservoir on the Paunsaugunt Plateau to where it connects to the Paiute Trail in Circleville, Utah. Although the 4-wheeler trail is on existing roads, it gets more rugged and remote as it crosses the Limekiln, Sanford, and Smith drainages. If you are a newer or inexperienced rider, don't cross the drainages without supervision from an experienced 4-wheeler rider.

If you enjoy capturing the 4-wheeler rides you make on film, you will find that the Fremont Trail is a very photogenic place. Red rock cliffs and ponderosa pine forests are found in great abundance in this area. The elevations on this trail range from 7880 feet at Tropic Reservoir to 9030 feet at Smith Canyon and dropping to 6080 in Circleville.

Fremont is a fun 4-wheeler trail to ride almost any time of year, just be sure to call before you haul and make sure the trails are completely open and not closed to due to early or late seasonal snows.
