Ranch Creek 4WD Road is a fantastic place to ride your 4-wheeler and you're certain to enjoy the scenary. If you're riding in the months that the bugs usually bite, be sure to pack along your favorite repellent so you can keep all the biting at bay.
This is a steep trail though it is only rated as an intermediate trail. If you have some experience riding your 4-wheeler and you're comfortable handling your machine on steep inclines, this should be a great ride for you. On an 4-wheeler trail that runs steeply as these trails do, keep some distance between yourself and the 4-wheeler rider in front of you. If that rider in front of you loses traction and slips back a bit - you don't want to be in the path of that on your 4-wheeler. Keep your 4-wheeler in low gear and take your time.
Ranch Creek 4-wheeler trail rolls through about 4-miles of White River National Forest land. You will find some great overlooks, so make sure you bring your camera along for this ride, the views are something you'll want to remember as this is one of the more scenic 4-wheeling trails you will ride. You will see the aptly named Mt. Massive, as well as the Sawatch and Gorge Ranges, Camp Hale, and Homestake Peak. There are also three very old cabins along the way that are considered historic sights.
