If you're looking for a fun ride on your 4-wheeler, look towards Piney Trail as your next destination for a truly challenging ride. This is a small 4-wheeling trail but it is big on challenges as it is only 0.9 miles in length but rated very difficult. It is a part of a network of looping trails that span over 19 miles of land in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
These are multi-use trails like the rest of the South Pedlar trail system and even though this trail is rated difficult, there is normally a good flow of visitors to the area during the 4-wheeler riding season from May through November of each year.
If you happen to be riding your 4-wheeler during the early or late parts of the riding season on this trail system, dress in layers and be aware that you are likely to encounter snow during those months.
