Located within the Ozark National Forest is a real jewel of an ATV trail. Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail is one of the most scenic ATV trails you'll have the chance to ride your machine on. This trail is one of the most amazing locations for ATVing in the Ozark National Forest; there is no other venue in Arkansas where you can view gorgeous mountain bluffs or so many fresh mountain streams in one place. The trail is made up of two loops: the Apple Loop and the Huckleberry Mountain Loop.
The slightly shorter loop, Huckleberry Mountain loop is just over 9 miles long. This may be a shorter distance for ATV riders, but the ground is much more difficult to ride on. The rating of this trail is intermediate, so experienced riders only on this trial.
Apple Loop, the longer loop, is easier riding terrain. This trail is great for newer and younger riders. The trail is primarily made of forest trails and old logging roads. This is also site to a primitive campground if you plan on making it a full weekend of ATV riding.
The Shoal Creek area can be dangerous. Check the water level before you ride and get the latest information on if the water has risen due to heavy rains. Crossing this creek is normally safe when water levels are average, but don't attempt to cross when the waters are higher than normal, the current is stronger than it looks.
