This ATV trail system is rated intermediate to expert riders and should not be attempted by anyone new to the sport or anyone who doesn't have the manipulation skills to control an ATV on these trails.
The Power Line Trail is an expert level rated ATV trail. It is rough and bumpy and got its name from the fact it follows power lines that run on Rampart Road. The trailhead for this trail is located immediately south of the Indian Creek Campground.
This trail is part of the Pike National Forest and you will need a sticker to ride your ATV on this trail system. You will need a permit to ride this area and while your ATV is being checked by the Forest Rangers for properly working brakes, headlights, noise muffler installation and spark arrestor installation, get the most current map for riding Power Line Trail.
Because of the difficulty level of this ATV trail, Power Line Trail experiences low use and chances are excellent you will have use of this trail limited mostly to your own group of riding buddies. This trail is one big, rough climb. You will need tires that have a good grip, V-Trax and Swamp Fox ATV tires are both excellent choices due to their smart design and computer enhanced raised tread.
