ATV was never better defined than at Texas Creek, as there are truly all types of terrain to ride at this locale. The Texas Creek riding area is situated in central Colorado alongside the Arkansas River. This riding area circles scenic Table Mountain.
As you ride the circle around Table Mountain you will find the trail changes. On the western side of Table Mountain you will find rock formations to roll over and climb. This is the most technically challenging part of the ATV trail system. The terrain changes from hard, craggy rock to loose sandy soil as you move eastward where the trail is very easy to ride and there is a clearing as well on the eastern side where you can pull over and enjoy the views.
The riding season for these trails is June through October and be aware that sudden thunderstorms are not only a possibility but are very likely. If you see a storm forming, take shelter as they usually pass by very quickly. Also dress in layers if riding during the early or late part of the riding season as the higher elevations can be chilly, even in June.
There are primitive camping areas at various places around both ATV trails and if you want to make a long weekend out of ATVing with your favorite group of riding buddies, this is a great way to cap off a fun day of ATV riding at Texas Creek.
