Another great destination for the beginning ATV riders is located at Flume Creek Road. This ATV road will take you through a winding forest trail and then climb above Twin Lakes finally descending into Flume Creek.
This is a great day ride for new ATV riders as the trail is an only 4 miles long. The San Isabel National Forest manages the ATV trail and they do require that you have your spark arrestor and noise muffler installed prior to riding this trail.
This trail is only an open from May through October and if you are riding on your ATV in this area during the early or late part of the riding season be aware it is likely you will encounter snow. If you have never driven your ATV on snow, make sure you are riding with an experienced ATVer that can show you the tips and tricks for navigating your ATV on this type of terrain

Catching the bolt that needs to be tightened on your ATV or the tire that needs a little inflating will make for not only a safer ATV ride but there's nothing worse than being caught out in the middle of your ATV excursion and have your ATV break down because you didn't check your ATV before taking it out.
