Ranch Creek 4WD Road is a fantastic place to ride your ATV, and you're certain to enjoy the scenary. If you're riding in the months that the bugs usually bite, be sure to pack along some Deep Woods Off so you don't get eaten alive by little flying critters.
This is a steep trail though it is only rated as an intermediate trail. If you have some experience riding your ATV and you're comfortable handling your machine on steep inclines, this should be a great ride for you. On an ATV trail that runs steeply as these trails do, keep some distance between yourself and the ATVer in front of you. If that rider in front of you loses traction and slips back a bit - you don't want to be in the path of that on your ATV. Keep your ATV in low gear and take your time.

You will find some great overlooks and hope you brought your camera along for this ride, the views are something you'll want to remember and show the folks back home. You will see the aptly named Mt. Massive, as well as the Sawatch and Gorge Ranges, Camp Hale, and Homestake Peak. There are also three very old cabins along the way that are considered historic sights.
