Ranch Creek ATV Road

The Ranch Creek ATV Road is a great challenge for the experienced ATV rider. Located in the northwest regions of Colorado, this ATV trail is full of steep, muddy terrain that you are sure to have lots of fun in. The Ranch Creek ATV Road begins at the historic Camp Hale site, which was an active training camp for soldiers during the second World War.

Though this trail is only four miles long, a lot of diversity is packed into it. You will glide your ATV in and out of a thick aspen forest, experience some steep and muddy slopes, cross beautiful meadows, and get an unforgettable scenic view of various mountains and ranges. You will also have the opportunity to see some wildlife as well. Remember to respect any animals you see while riding on the Ranch Creek ATV Road, and do not deviate from the trail under any circumstances. The tundra around the area is very fragile, and if it is damaged, the trail may be closed to ATV riding.

To get to the Ranch Creek ATV Road from Vail, get on to 1-70 until you see the Minturn Exit. From there take Highway 24 south through Minturn and keep going for about 14 miles until you get to a valley. Turn a left on the first dirt road you see. From here you will enter Camp Hale. From there take a right and head onto highway 24, turn left, then right. Keep going for a few minutes until you see the Ranch Creek sign. Remember to be responsible, and have fun riding your ATV!
