ATVing on Trails

If you're getting bored with riding your ATV at a track, why not try getting out on some ATV trails instead? Nothing beats fresh air and sunshine combined with ever changing scenery.

ATV trails will take you through many different types of terrain, so it's important to know how best to handle each one for maximum safety. Here are some tips.

ATVing On Hills

Always take hills straight up and down on your ATV. Never travel cross-wise on hills or you risk rolling your ATV over on top of you, causing an outcome we don't care to mention.

Water Crossing With Your ATV

Always look for the smallest place with the least depth when crossing water on your ATV. It's a good idea to get off your ATV to actually check the depth so you can tell if your intake snorkel can stay above the water line. Go slowly to create as little water disturbance as possible.

Turns On ATV Trails And Inclines

Turning around on uneven ATV trails and inclines can be dangerous, giving your ATV the opportunity to tip and roll. If the terrain is unsafe to make a turn around, better to put your ATV in reverse, and use your front brake to control your speed as you back down the incline. Using your rear ATV brake at this point could throw your handle bars over your head, and you along with them. No good outcome from this mistake.

The best advice anyone can give you on how to ride ATV trails is to take it easy, pay attention to the terrain, and always allow lots of room between riders, especially when it comes to taking hills. You'll be able to ejoy the ATV trails with minimum risk to your safety.
