When using the trails in the Wayne National Forest, be ready for some heavy duty riding. This place provides superb terrain for your ATV riding pleasure.
There have been many improvements on these trails. ATV's can do a lot of damage to the ground and these trails have interlocking blocks installed for the more eroded areas of trails to help stabilize the soil. The work done on these ATV trails has also made the curves safer to navigate and made the ATV trails safer to ride on overall.
Wayne National Forest has some regulations that must be followed when you're driving your ATV on these trails. You must possess a valid drivers license, you must have a current ATV registration prominently displayed on your ATV. If you are from out of town, you can purchase a temporary registration at the Forest Office.
There are three areas of the Wayne Forest for ATVing. There is the Hanging Rock Trail System, the Monday Creek Trail System, and the Pine Creek Trail System. All of the ATV trails are open from April to December of every year.
The trails are clearly marked for these ATV trails and going off trail on your ATV is strictly prohibited.
An unusual point about these ATV trails is they allow night riding if your ATV is properly equipped with working head lights and tail lights. The Forest Service also requires that you have a working spark arrestor installed on your ATV as well as a muffler prior to riding these ATV trails.
