You are going to love the run you will have on the Rasor Off-Highway Vehicle Area. It is a very exciting and remote area, that provides rolling hills and open valleys, along with sand dunes.
The riding area is between Interstate 15 and the Mojave National Preserve, about 25 miles southwest of Baker California. The access roads are Basin Road and Rasor Road east of the I-15. Both of these roads are graded dirt roads. The elevations are between 1,275 to 2,427 feet.
It is a very remote area, and so the ATVer must be experienced in this activity of ATVing. There is vast vegetation, with rocky terrain and deep slopes. You will come across some very deep mine shafts, so extreme caution must be used in these areas.There is also extremes of heat and cold , so react accordingly.
There are some rules, here in Rasor, that must be followed, while on your ATV.
Your ATV must have a muffler or a spark arrester. If running your ATV at night,you must have workable head and tail lights. You are required by law, in the state of California, to wear a helmet on all ATV's, at all times.
It is against the law to destroy the landscape are any archeological sites. Of course, being an avid ATVer, you already know these things. Safety is an important issue also. You want to make sure your ATV is in top running order. No leaks or smoky exhausts are a no no out in these environmentally protected areas.
Your equipment must be up to date as well as taking the necessary supplies for a long trip. Don't forget a cell phone for emergencies and water. It does get dry and you well get thirsty.
