This is a moderately challenging ATV trail that is only about 3 miles long, and is managed by the San Isabel National Forest. The riding season for this trail is early spring to late fall. Be aware that there may be snow patches at various points on this ATV trail early and late in the season.
The activities allowed on this designated multi-use trail include : ATVing, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Motorcycling, Mountain Biking, and Picnicking. Always be aware of the other person and you're in for a great safe time riding your ATV in this area.
There is parking at the trailhead in Spring Creek, and there are also bathroom facilities and a picnic area for your use. There are several loop possibilities when using Baker, Indian Creek and Shortcut Trails when riding your ATV in this area. This is a scenic but winding trail and is great for beginners with moderate experience to learn new maneuvering skills. More experienced ATV riders can just enjoy the scenic beauty of the area and the ride itself.
Dodgeton stream is crossed 2 times as you follow the drainage. Use the Treadlightly standards when crossing streams so you erode the landscape as little as possible. This is a fantastic ATV ride for both new ATV riders as well as experienced ATV riders. As with all Forest Service managed trails, make sure your muffler/spark arrestor is installed properly on your ATV and always wear your DOT approved helmet.
