At only 14.8 miles long, this road goes through the San Isabel National Forest and is managed by the San Isabel National Forest Service. The riding season for these ATV trails are open 365 days a year unless inclimate weather shuts them down.
There is a lot of traffic on these ATV trails with not only other ATV riders, but also foot traffic in the form of hikers and campers. There are also other OHV riders such as four-wheelers and mountain bikers. Also be mindful of the horseback riders in the area. In the winter, keep an extra eye out for snowmobile riders.
These ATV trails are only moderately difficult and are ideal for beginning ATV riders to get experience and hone their ATV maneuvering skills upon. There are clearly marked ATV trails so it is easy for even riders new to trail navigation to learn to keep up.
The first half of the ATV trail is passable by passenger car then after that the remaining ATV trail is rather rough and only ATVs and other vehicles made for this type of terrain will be able to go further. The 4WD section of the road is a gradual climb with a few steep pitches to navigate.
This ATV trail is managed by the Forest Service and the usual regulations apply, make sure your permit is displayed in a clearly visible area on your ATV, your muffler/spark arrestor must be installed prior to riding, and you must wear a DOT approved helmet at all times during your ride.
