This ATV trail offers a little more challenge for your next ATV ride and is ideal for beginning ATV riders who have mastered the basic skills and are finding the ATV trails rated "easy" are just too easy.
This ATV trail has a length of about 5.5 miles and only climbs to about a 400-ft elevation. The trail is open to ATV riders, hikers, motorcyclists, mountain bikers, and snowmobile riders from Winter through the Spring.
This is a great venue for newer ATV riders to learn to handle their ATVs in snowy conditions and since the terrain isn't too steep and there are not a lot of challenges, confidence can be gained by learning good maneuvering skills on their ATVs in these conditions.
The ATV trail itself winds around and intersects with several other trails at various points throughout your ATV ride. The Trout Creek intersection forms a nice loop around if you're interested in heading off the Long Hollow Trail and looping back.
The trails are narrow and only allow passing for one ATV, a good rule of thumb is at turns and stops, make sure the ATV rider who is behind you catches up before you go forward and that way no one gets left behind on your ATV ride.
As with all Forest Service Managed lands, make sure you have your ATV permit displayed in a clearly visible area on your ATV and make sure that you have your muffler and spark arrestor properly installed before you ride. Additionally, the Forest Service asks that you adhere to the standards set forth by the organization, Treadlightly and leave no trace of your ATV ride. You should also stay on the designated ATV trails and do not go trailblazing.
