Minnesota, known as the land of lakes, is also the land of ATV's. There are many great ATV clubs in the state, one for almost every taste.
Perhaps the best known and most popular of the groups is the statewide All Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota. This club's large membership enjoys several fun rides and events during the year, and hosts social meetings as well. Their conventions in the spring and fall are well attended and great opportunities to meet other ATV riders from the state. ATVAM is also politically active, ensuring ATV trails are developed and maintained throughout the state.
The Washington County Ramsey Wheelers, in Newport, Minnesota, is another very active group. From Christmas parties to family campouts to work days at ATV trails, this group has fun together. In addition to regular rides, the group sponsors the popular "Haydays" and fall color rides.
In southern Minnesota, you'll find the Southern Minnesota ATV Riders Club. Focusing on ATV riding as a family activity, this club prides itself on having safety instructors in its membership and offering regular training classes in addition to the information provided by the Minnesota DNR.
There are many smaller clubs in Minnesota as well, and your dealer should be able to direct you to one in your area. Consider the Winton/Ely Stump Jumpers in Winton, or the Wilderness Wheelers in Big Fork. In the Northeast, there’s the Arrowhead ATV Club. They are active in litter clean up and tree planting in an effort to preserve the natural environment. They also sponsore rides for riders with disabilities, educating others about this important segment of the ATV population.
