Trails in Minnesota for Beginners and Expert ATV Riders

After purchasing that brand new ATV, you may be wondering where to ride your ATV in Minnesota. There are plenty of trails to choose from.

For easy trails, try the Moose River ATV Trail in the Land O' Lakes state forest. The 25 miles of trails in this park are easy and designed for beginners, and the park is open all year round.

The Thistledew ATV Trail runs in the George Washington State Forest is scenic and also geared for beginners. The easy trails through forests and ski areas are open from April 1 through November.

Dago Lake, located near Willow River, Minnesota is a popular spot. Large hills and interesting trails make this a very popular weekend destination for ATV enthusiasts. From Minneapolis, take route 35N to Willow River.

Another favorite spot in Minnesota is Cyuna Range near Crosby Ironton. From route 169 N take route 210 east through town. Lots of trails, large hills and great natural scenery make this a favorite spot with natives. Camping spots are nearby, so this is a great weekend destination.

Located near Pine River, Minnesota, Spider Lake features beautiful scenery, old logging trails and woodland rides in the Foothills State Forest. The ATV trails are open all year and range from easy to difficult.

Challenging trails can also be found at the Chengwatana State Forest's 12 mile trail. The state park has three rivers, great scenery and challenging trails. You may want to take advantage of the state campground on site to allow yourself more time to practice on the trails. This park is open all year.
