ATV riding in Arizona with Your Recreational Use Permit

If you want to go ATV riding in Arizona it is possible that you may need a Recreational Use Permit from the state. In fact, one of these permits is need if you plan to go ATV riding in Arizona and will be traveling on State Trust Lands. These permits are easy to obtain and only cost $15 for an individual permit and $20 for a family one.

You see, Arizona is seeking to protect the state's land and the archeological and ecological aspects of the land. One of the ways to keep the land protected is to make sure that while you are ATV riding in Arizona, you stay on designated trails and do not create your own. Never ride your ATV in areas restricted to ATVs. This can destroy archeological elements and disturb the ecology and is illegal.

In addition, you will want to minimize the dust you create. You can do this while ATV riding in Arizona by sticking to the trails, and riding slowly near residential areas. In fact, the state asks that you do not park or operated ATVs near buildings and houses and keep your distance from paved roads.

The State of Arizona, in order to control the amount of particles in the air, will close routes from time to time. You can find out which trails are closed before you go ATV riding in Arizona by contacting the State Land Department. This is the department you will want to contact to obtain your Recreational Use Permit as well.
