ATV Trails at Grapevine Lake
Located right smack between Dallas and Fort Worth, Grapevine Lake offers a lot of ATV riding trails for exploring. The ATV trails surround a 7200 acre lake. The area around the lake is undeveloped and the trails around the lake are clearly marked and easy to follow. There are a lot of small hills and some steep grades, and a lot of mud to ride your ATV through. Even a week or so after a rain, the inner ATV trails around the lake will still be very muddy due to the thick forest that keeps the sun from shining on the forest floor. Although you should never ride your ATV alone, make sure that you have a friend with you just in case one of you gets stuck in the mud.
Be certain to wear your helmet, it's required, and also since you'll mostly be traveling narrowly cleared path with limbs sticking out here and there, make sure to wear chest protection, long sleeves and protect your legs. There is nothing fun about getting slapped in the chest or leg by a tree branch when you're riding your ATV.
Grapevine Lake has a beautiful view and the ATV trails are long and winding. Plan on spending an entire day there are so many to explore on your ATV. Like all Texas ATV trails, a permit is required and a helmet is required gear. Make sure you have both and you'll have a great time riding your ATV at Grapevne Lake.
