What To Look For When Seeking Quality ATV Training
When you are looking to take some ATV training classes. You will find all training classes are not created equal. A good ATV training class will require ATV safety equipment be worn at all times and this includes goggles and a DOT approved helmet.
They should cover safe ATV riding methods, route planning, and preventative ATV maintenance. If you learn to do a pre-ride ATV inspection, you will learn to catch some little problems before they turn into big problems and possible ruin your ride. You will learn safe handling of your ATV, braking techniques and how to better watch out for the other guy.
Don't be afraid to ask the instructors about their ATV experience and qualifications for training others to ride ATVs in a safe manner. Any hedging by the person will give you a clue this may not be the ATV training class for you.
Last thing, make sure that the ATV training course you are taking meets or exceeds the guidelines set by Lantra, HSE. and meets the required standard of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER).
